Report a phone call from 02202 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Annoyed guyHad my third call from this number. Nobody speaks and next time i am going to answer the phone sounding like and old guy. If its scammers they may want to talk to somebody older as they may not know better.
Prior to me getting these calls i got 2 sms messages from a sort of 08080 number and im not sure if its related?
Im reporting this to O2 and if they can't do anything about it im going to threaten to switch providers. I used to work at a 3rd party orange mobile upgrades and i can tell you they get your number from an automatic machine (computer) that dials random numbers on an orange/O2 prefix and if somebody answers that number then gets sorted onto the active and normally thats the call verified as valid and possible sale call for future. Annoying i know!!- Caller: unknown
- MEI have got a phone call from these people every day for about a month. I havnt answered it and thought i would check it out on the internet. I know not to give bank details away or anything but cheers for the info about it definatly not being O2. Is reporting them to O2 going to solve anything for me? is there a way to block that number from my phone?
- TIM, LEEDS| 1 replyits is 02 they are ringing up to make sure you are getting all of the promotions & anything you topped up a small discount is made against a new phone, i used to top up heavily & got enough discount so that it is now free. Suuuuupperrr! all they do is ask your address & permission to send it. how do you think they got your number???? because they own it!!!
So stop bein suckaz & get some free [***].....- Caller: 02
- LauraI received a call from a guy on this number. He muttered something and then the line went dead. The next day an unprofessional sounding lady called me from this number and told me she wanted to update me on info about O2's latest packages. She sounded unprofessional and I was wary, so I said I wasn't interested.
I queried this call with O2 and they said the number 02202 appeared to be theirs and then apologised for the woman's unprofessionalism.
Go to O2's website, email a query or complaint and asked to be removed from their marketing phone call list if you want to avoid more calls from them.- Caller: O2
- ShellyI'm a customer service advisor, working for o2. The number is not from us. Alot of companies "pretend" to be o2 and call or text customers telling them they can have free minutes or texts. DO NOT call them or text them back. They usually start sending premier text messages which cost you guys £1.50 a time. Because the number looks similar to "o2" people fall for them. This applies to any network, if a company texts you saying they are o2, or Orange, T mobile etc, it will say that on the texts. Our texts say o2uk or 4444 (top up line number) If you have any doubts speak to your service provider. You wouldn't believe how many calls we get from people falling victims to these scams. If they persist your service provider can even send you a free of charge sim and change your number. Also just a quick note, o2 do not share details with these third parties, you have to opt into them. Ringtones on the back of a magazine might look cheap at the time, but read the small print... they're always subscriptions. As i say as much as i hate call queues ring us if ur unsure. customer services is 4445 from your o2 handset.

- worried person| 1 replyThis isnt good, i ignored them before for a while when it used to go dead, but today some guy said that he was called 'ram' (how did i not spot something dodgy???) and was from O2, i was very wary about giving him my details but I gave him my name, DOB and my home address... How should I deal with this and am I in danger of my details being used?

Here's a bit of advice for anyone who gets a call or even worse, for anyone who has agreed to anything from this company.
The new Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations was set down on 26th May this year.
You can tell the caller that it is now an offence to trade this way and if anyone has agreed to switch their service providers they can cancel any agreements under this legislation.
Also the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations give you 7 days cooling off rights.
Anyone who has been a victim of this scam will need to cancel in writing, the trouble is getting an address!
You can also request copies of phone calls under the Freedom of Information Act if you really want to get them in trouble.
Organisations like Consumer Direct can help, can you tell I'm at work right now?- Caller: 02202
- jezbeen ringing me on and off for a couple of months, answered today, she said she was trying to reveiw my bolt on services, when she asked for my name I said no, she then hung up on me....b*tch!
