Keep receiving missed calls from the number '02202'

a man was at park today had a go at me then he got his phone out and 00202 called me an i looked at him an he was staring right at me :S

I received a call from 02202 this morning at 10.49. It is the second time I have received a call. I did not answer on either occasion.

I keep getting rung by this number too. They always ring in the afternoon, and I only ever answered once. When I did, if was a busy sounding background. No one was actually there. Then they hung up. I haven't answered since. But it's really starting to scare me. If anyone finds a way to block the number, please let me know.

This number has been calling me for weeks, i have never once answered it and i never will answer it. Sounds like a waste of time so if i was you i would just ignore it. I know its a pain but maybe they will stop calling if you keep ignoring it for long enough, fingers crossed.

I too have received a call from this number twice now. Initially i didnt answer as like most of you i dont answer to annymous numbers or of which are not saved in my phone book. the following day, approximately 26 hours later from the intial call another followed. This time i answerd. Though after the first call i had come on here to check the number out. After what i have been reading off this site i was 90% convinced this number was some sort of hoax/scam. In me answering the second call they straight away adressed themselves as being 02 from customer services. i asked for a form of identification so she offered to send me a text. I told her this still wouldnt convince me and then enquired about the number being 02202. She got very stuttery and broke character as if it was an act. I told her then i wasnt interesting in any sort of upgrades and to stop contacting my number. Following this i contacted 02 directly to customer services with a number from one of my recent bills (0800 902 0217). I then enquired about the number i had been contacted by as i was unsure whether it was genuine or fake. She took a few minutes while placing me on hold. She then confirmed to me that the number is a genuine 02 number from the customer service section. She said the reason for the call was because they are trying to improve sales and customer service quality. Even though its been confirmed back to me im still dubious of the number. The number i usually contacted my is 21202. I still wouldnt personally trust the number as it seems very strange to me with everyones input on here. I suggest to the public that if you want to avoid being scammed then do not answer it. Im sure you all see the sense in that. Also if the number is consecutively ringing you then i suggest just answering it and very politely asking them to stop contacting you.

I've had this number calling me for about a week now everyday, it's getting really annoying, the first time i answered and couldn't hear him so well, so i said i'm busy right now so i'm going to hang up. And he said okay we'll call you in the evening. I just hung up then. A couple of days later they called again, and i just rejected the call, and the same the next day, and then just now they called again, so i answered and they just stayed silent for 10 seconds, and hung up. I wonder if they're gonna call again tomorrow, maybe i could tell them alll about my day.

I have just had a missed call off this number, first one i have had so far, i have a few friends that work for o2 though so maybe i can get to the bottom of it that way, i will post back when i have spoke to them.

Just had a call from 02202 and the guy started talking right away... me being the gullible person that i am just gave him all my details and it wasnt till i came off the phone after he had told me he would call me back in a few minutes that i thought i should check this out... i have came on here and read all these comments and i dont know what to do... i just called o2 customer services and they said yes it is their number and everything is above board... i dont know what to do... i havent had a call back yet and i am very worried x

On your recent calls, scroll down to the missed call from 02202, go to options (or whatever it is on your phone) and select add to reject list. Turn on auto-reject for the number too if you can.

Now they cant call you.

It is O2 sales. Despite the fact that is legitimate I would still avoid them. :D

I can't understand why you would get rude responses from them however from friends experiences of working in call centres sometimes it is a machine that automatically calls people and if it connects, and you answer, only then do you get connected to a sales person, sometimes there are too many calls made for the number of staff which is why you get silence/background noise/hung up on, as there is no one to talk to you once you have answered.

Maybe the rude responses are caused by computer malfunctioning and you end up getting connected to other customers rather than members of staff so in fact we are all just hurling abuse at each other, or over hearing what other customers are saying to the call centre staff which is why it sounds muffled and distant. - only a suggestion

I just had a missed call from this number then a voicemail saying '' To avoid marketing calls please dial 0800 0136670'' Has anyone else had this????????

i have been recieving calls from 02202 for a couple of weeks now. Whenever i answer there is silence from their end. This is definately not 02 ringing you. it's clearly i scam, going to answer in a high pitch kids voice next time and see if i can get them to answer me :o  [***].

Hello, i have just been contacted by this number than rang o2 customer service and explained that i had been contact by a number and just wondered if it was them. i said 02202 and then she replied that it was their simplicity line and are trying to upgrade everybodys deals. She also said many people have rang with this concern but the number is legitimite :]

I had a call today from 02202 and yesterday from 08000641087.  I was fairly certain that this is o2 trying to sell products,services so I rang o2 Customer Services.  

I was quite specifically told that these two numbers are o2's Sales Department.  Suffices to say that they have been advised to remove my mobile number from their "selling" list.  Of course they won't do that, but hey I had a bit of fun shouting down the phone at them!!

I've had several calls 4m dis number x its driving me crazy x I've also tried calling and texting back and it either can't recognise da number or da text it doesn't go through x how do I block da number x

but surely if they have ur number, and ur phone is registered, they would already have your address aswell
