I received one as well. I answered hello and said my name. Hung up as soon ad I heard Asian language! I hope I am not being hacked- will block number

Chinese embassy website says its a scam and to ignore.

I did not answer but the Asian female left an automated message in Chinese on my answering machine. I have now blocked this number.

Got a missed call, checked messaging, and it was Chinese/Korean or other Asian language

I just received a call from 02 6228 3948 and it was from Canberra. There was a recorded message from a Chinese woman. I hung up straight away

My Mandarin is pretty bad but the lady was saying something about an unpaid for black bean and Kung pow chicken order. Anyways sounds like a scam.

Received a phone call from this number today, a lady speaking japanese or something continued to talk, I answered by saying hello and hung up about 3 seconds after I heard them talking. Not sure what that was about.

My wife is Chinese. After talking to me in Chinese I gave the phone to my wife. It was voicemail saying you have an important email from the Canberra consulate push 9. It was in Mandarin. After she pushed 9. This guy who spoke in Chinese Mandarin didn't know why my wife was on the phone. He insisted that my wife gives her name and passport number because she had an important email. My wife revealed her name but said she didn't have the passport number. He said he would call again at 3:00pm. I will now report this to police because this looks like identity theft for criminal activity.

answered and call was in mandarin. my limited understanding of the language interpreted it as, "surrender immediately. resistance is futile, you will be assimilated into the motherland's collective." just wondering, is the food good in a collective?

I have confirmed it is a scam. Seems like a number related to the embassy, but is not. Don't call back.

Same thing just happened to me, recieved a call from the same number, some Asian lady speaking in Chinese or something along those lines. Tried to ring back and couldn’t get through, suspected scam I think

Just called me, repeated the same message twice in chinese and then they hung up
