    I called the number from a landline and it was a recording for a company that does sales and upgrades for Optus and it gives the option to leave your name and mobile number if you dont want to be called back, however they says it takes up to 48 hours to take affect so ill see how many times i get called until then.

    I have been getting these calls for the past 3-4 weeks. I always ignore numbers i dont know as i never give out my mobile number. They have been ringing on and off and sometimes up to 4 times a day.
    I am with optus but am not pre-paid. I have been with them for about 5 years and have just upgraded my contract about 10 months ago. So there should be no real reason of Optus to be contacting me.
    I tried to call the number back on a landline but it doesnt go through.
    I will store th enumber as Scam in my phone so i wont ever pick up!

    hey im also optus prepaid and lucky i googled it b4 calling back, they have only called once, hope they don't call again

    I just received a call from this number...they said that because id been a loyal prepaid customer that if i stayed with optus for another 24 months i would get a  free phone, some new sony ericsson one. however i have a pretty good phone now as it is so i wasnt too concerned. then she tryed to get me to switch off prepaid and onto a plan...i got a little suspicious and plus im happy with prepaid so i basically told her that i wasnt interested, and that was the end of that.

    I've also received three or four calls. On calling the number I listened to a voice recording advising that they are a contact centre business that sell mobile upgrades on behalf of optus and if returning a missed call you are eligible for the upgrade and will receive a call again shortly. Alternatively you can leave your name and number to be removed from the list. Not sure of legitimacy or not.

    I received a call from this number this afternoon (15/06/08 @ 3.46pm). I was in a meeting and missed it... I am an Optus Pre-Paid customer too.

    Ive been phoned by this number 3 times this week tryin to push a $19 dollar plan on me. If it is optus i wish they would get the message and just F@%K off!

    I just rang optus on their direct number (taken from the internet site) and they confirmed that this is a legit number (02 8114 3800) - they are ringing around to customers to talk about their new deals... Offering me a $19 p/month with $50 free calls and a new phone, i'm taking it!

    I received a call at 525pm yesterday EST. called back from mobile and home and it tells me network is busy. funny because just yesterday i received a call from another scam number 07 3018 0586. I'm an optus prepaid customer too - might change over to Vodafone.

    I missed a call from this number to. I am with optus prepaid. i tried calling back and they said the network was busy. Sounds like it is from optus.. damn i thought it was someone interesting!

    As with everyone else, I'm also on Optus, in particular using a pre-paid account. As I am awaiting responses in regards to jobs, I googled the number to hopefully find out who belonged to, after a quick scan of this webpage, I called it back to see if its still plugging marketing material, and found as "EJ", who wrote on July 11th did, that you get an answering service, for an outsourced company Optus is using to attempt to sway members in changing plans. This is the first time I have ever had a call like this from Optus, hopefully being the last.
