Called asking me about a job in the Middle East, said I couldn't hear very well, they hung up.  When I rang back got a fax tone.

had this number call it left a voice message but it was a music piece by beethovan NOT COOL sooo annoyed WTF??? IM IN AUSTRALIA NSW

It's when you get an international call, this number will appear occassionally. I got it a while ago when my family rang from overseas and I thought it was a  Sydney number so I was suprised. It's weird because you can hear other people talking in foreign languages on a cross line

does anyone know from what country this nr. is? I'm based in Brisbane... It called me twice just now. could be our phone is hacked... a money making sceme

I got a call from my good friend who is now in Iraq.  This number appeared on my phone.  I think it he must have been using an interational phone card, which routes calls to Australia through this number(?).  Anyway, it was definitely my friend - not a marketer, spammer or nuisance call.  

I guess it all depends on who's calling, but some calls from this number can be legitimate.

Nigerian Scammer uses this number.

no, it isn't a lie, listen to what the man is saying. It's an IP gateway. There's no point trying to phone it back - that's not the way it works - you are not meant to phone it back, because you will never reach the person you are trying to reach anyway. It could be anyone of a million people.

I got this call between 12am and 2am. Once in a while. Does anyone know where it's coming from or what it's main purpose is?

I received 5 missed calls from this number in one day. I didn't pick it up in case it was an annoying telemarketer. After the 5th missed call, I rang back and it was a weird fax sound. Very strange. I'm from Perth...I googled it and I have also been led to this website!

Got a call from this number on my mobile. Tried to call it back and get a fax signal.

But I think I know what happened. My sister is in Mexico. She tried to call me on my mobile first using telephone card. Which i missed. Then she tried the home number which I answered. So this is it..I hope I was helpful.

My cousin from overseas just dialled my mobile phone, however the same local number appeared on my mobile phone, as opposed to an overseas number.

She left a voice message, and there seemed to be some delay before commenced leaving her message.

All fingers point to Skype - or the likes of.

I just got back from overseas and this number calls at inappropriate times! It's so bloody annoying! So how do i know who it is?! I dont want to call back incase it eats my credit up!

I got it 3 times tonight between 10-11pm in Melbourne. I did not pick up. Nobody knows who it is? Should we report to the police?

Been getting this call at random times since the end of Novemeber. If i answer i here alot of noice then it hangs up, if i dont answer it just rings a few times and hangs up, call back and get a fax tone. At first the number wouldnt show but recently it has started showing. Googled this number cause kept getting it so often and found this. Im in Sydney.

Got this call at approx 3pm this arvo on my mobile followed immediately by a blocked ID call. I missed both calls and no message was left so I didn't bother calling back.
Interestingly, the first four digits (8209) are the same as my Engin voip home phone so it would certainly appear to be some sort of Internet based system.

I got it 5 times about 1:15 in Perth on my mobile in roaming(SK). He speaks in Slovak language - Who is there?... who is there?... I think, he is employee of telecom.
