this # has called twice a day for the last 2 weeks. today an asian man finally spoke.  i had to ask him to repeat himself a few times as he spoke so fast I couldnt hear clearly what he was saying. I made out a few snippets, something to the effect that his survey department told him there had been an accident in the family in the last 3 years and they were selling some sort of compensation/claim package. i kept asking questions and told him to repeat until he got annoyed, abruptly saying 'i have already told you three times now' I was just about to ask him another question when he obviously couldnt take anymore and hung up...! my number is also listed with TPS...!

Just had the same thing.  glad it is not just me - I get worried by these silent callers!

This number rings my line about 10 times a day while I am at work. If I am home one day when it rings, they will get hell from me. I have my football referees whistle next to the phone.

I just got a call from these guys, indian guy on the other end with very little understanding of english.

Claimed to be from an Accibent Compensation Service Company, and had been told that someone on my number had had an accident in the last 3 years.  I know this is wrong due to coming through on home phone number which goes to friends/family only, so random dialer I expect.

I managed to waste their time for a few minutes asking questions which the guy couldn't answer.

this cretin has been ringing our home number for weeks now and hanging up as soon as you answer.

07012 212 212 - it charges you 50p per min to call it back as it's a personal number.  Company that give the line to someone who seems to be trying to scam you as they tend to get revenue back on 070 numbers is Skymarket Limited according to PPPlus.  Might be an idea to email and complain about it.

Mind you, I've complained to them before now about someone trying to scam and they're not *that* great on email when you complain.  They tend to get arsey.... but hey, give it a go anyway :)  Good Luck.

I keep getting calls for this number for someone who does not live here. This morning I feigned tears in frustration and said she'd died - they hung up on me!!

Was called from the number. Asian-sounding guy claiming to be from BMR - British Market Research because someone in our household had had an accident in the last three years (I wonder who). Told them I'm registered with TPS and asked to speak to supervisor to register a complaint. Spoke to another asian-sounding gentleman called Michael Parker, who was still trying to follow up on the accident in my household, then spent several minutes apologising and asked me not to cpmplain. Finally hung up when I asked to speak to his manager.

i have been recieving calls from 07012212212 for some weeks now a asian bloke was on first but i could not understand him the phone calls still havent stopped day an night around 10 times a day i am registered with the tps and told them but it still keeps happening help

I had a call from this number 3 times during night time. When I picked the phone they hung up. someone is playing pranks.

Just had a call from this number 07012212212 answered then phone made dialing tone got some aisan sounding guy on the line rambling on and asking how many accidents i had in last three years !! asked him how got my number he just kept repeating same crap ! told him not to ring again PS Saturday Night 8.00 PM chilling on the sofa.

Same as John T - told him I did not want to discuss it and rang off

Just had this call as well (11am on 16th December). I picked up the phone, but there was no-one on the other end.

Just had a call from this number too - asian guy as above, as I picked up the phone, it sounded a dialing tone (as if I were ringing him), and he answered saying 'hello, dear - have you had an accident in the last three years'?! - I just said 'I know you're trying to sell me something, and I'm not interested - and I hung up.  My husband says the number is a 'personal number'.  We are ex-directory, so not sure how he got the number.  Has anyone actually had an accident in the past three years? as if they, or if you know someone who has, then it might be they have got hold of some documents/information which is confidential.  There has been an accident in our family two years ago, so I am very worried that somehow they have got hold of some information they shouldn't have done - and that it's a scam?  Please let me know if anyone thinks this might be the case.

I should add that this is not the first call we have received... the last time I remember an asian man telling me that there has been an accident in my family in the last three years, and asking whether that was correct. So, I said an unsure 'er..yes' - and he started going on about claiming and at that point, I stopped him sharply and asked him where he got my number from - he said he was just given the list and he didn't know.  I said I was ex-directory, and they said 'I know... ' and continued their sales pitch!  I pursued this a little further, interrupting them and asking them to find out where my number was from - and he started to get slightly angry at me for wanting to know the answer (!!!) and hung up!  I would love to put an end to their little scam as it has started to really irritate me.

Hi, I work for the telecommunications operator that owns the number range from Ofcom. This number is not in use, nor has ever been sold to date so it appears the caller is spoofing the CLI when making their outgoing calls. Checked all the call data for the last month and can confirm no calls have used our network. If anyone gets hold of the unalterred CLI of this guy I would be most grateful if you can send it to support@skycomuk.com as he is generating rather a lot of phone complaints !

I did 1471. I got a message saying it's a phone line which charges "up to 50p a minute."  At which I hung up pretty quickly !!

My guess is they're deliberately hanging up when you answer, hoping you'll call back (as I did) and making their money from those calls.

I have had several calls from this number.. Who is it? They call and then hang up!!! I will not call it back incase it on of those numbers who suddenly charges you £50 for calling it back.
