Just got call - appeared to be power dialling - asked how I was? and clained to be a comms company - I put the 'phone down.  I'm also on TPS so they would appear to be rogues!

this number has called me lots of times and then just hung up

Just recieved a call from this number.

The call connected but with a dead line for 15 seconds so i hung up.

Tried from mobile and couldnt connect.

I HATE THESE [***]!  - PITY WE CANT BAR NUMBERS FROM LANDLINES!! :(

This number 07012212212 has rang several times, in fact today when I looked at the phone they were busy filling up my answer machine with silence as no one spoke at all for ages. People calling like this all the time need a good slapping IMO.

I've been getting a call from this number and a few other ones covered on this website over the last couple of weeks. I've been getting loads of cold calls since I applied for a first direct credit card. Coincidence? Anyone else?

Well, this number continues to ring my line about 10 times per day. With this frequency, it doesn't look entirely random now. I guess as it has gone through to a voicemail, they now know it is an active line so trying it many times per day.

If I am in when it calls I will try one of the following tactics which are highly recommended if you don't want them to ring back.
1. Take the call, say "hello" then put on mute (or stay silent). Wait until they hang up.
2. As above, but after saying "hello", answer every question with a random word, for example; "Q. Are you the homeowner?" "A. Rabbit" "Q. Who am I speaking to?" "A. Cabbage". Wait until they hang-up.
3. As 1, but after saying "hello" simply talk in strings on numbers, e.g. "Q. Can I speak to the homeowner?" "A. 7 19 62 41 1 109 28 83 6 42 2". Again wait until they hang-up.

If you do this every time they ring, they will soon remove you from their calling list. It is costing them money to listen to nothing useful!!

Had several calls from this number - 07012212212. Never anyone there and not obtainable if I ring back.

Trouble is, I don't get silent calls, I always get an asian man at the end asking me whether there's been an accident in the last three years in my family... It's so annoying.  I might ask them if they have a website when they next call... I think they are more likely to be fraudulent.

Been getting these calls for a week or so now, always silent so far.
I have reported this to OFCOM using their simple online form. The more people who can do this, the better chance that action will be taken against these scum callers. Good luck

The call is a call centre number where they dial loads of numbers and the first to pick up gets the call - everyone else gets a dead line.  I received my second one today and the guy was saying he'd received my number as we'd had an accident within the last 3 years - he stated he was from some accident claim insurance company.  When I told him nobody in my family had had any sort of accident within the last 3 years he hung up!!!

Received call about 15 mins ago. Picked up phone to hear it ringing as though I was making a call. Asian man answered and started the conversation by saying he had records and files on me and that he knew there had been an accident in the family. I asked him the name of who he wished to speak to and he just kept repeating he had files on me. I said he had a wrong number and he just repeated my number back. I hung up. We are ex directory.

My calls from this number are now 1 every 2/3 days.
Usually line goes dead.
I am retired and of the age I like an afternoon sleep - so not happy being woken up.
Today someone answered and I screamed down the phone - HE hang up.
{SORRY I DIDN'T OBTAIN ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THESE COWARDS/BULLIES/STALKERS and a few other names I cant type }
I am registered with every system that blocks calls like this that I know { in the uk } but I understand that dosn't help.
I HATE cold calling { phone, e-mail, fax, door - well at least I can vent my fury when they are standing face to face }

Calmed down a bit and have { again } reported it to ofcom.

I have also had this call 3 times today were no one spoke. I work for Bt and bt would not give your number out if your are not in phone book full stop. I would love to know were these call centres are getting our numbers from?

I am getting these calls constantly also, it dials them back and then someone answers usually some indian or last night i had someone call who was from england way, really are a nuisance, I am getting at least 4 a week. It's not on, someone needs to stop them.  Make sure none of you give out any details to these people.  They always answer me but when they say hello, they stop there, they dont talk, so i put the phone down every time.
