Report a phone call from 07012212212 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- TrisIf someone gets another of these, test your powers of social engineering and see if you can extract a number to call him back on (other than the 070 which doesnt work of course). I suspect it will be a challenge but once you get their local number we can make it go away for good !
- LindaI answered to a very heavily accented female voice. She spoke at about 110 mile an hour, but the bits I understood were to do with ‘mobile’ and ‘network’. I said “Where did you get this number? It is X-directory”. She hung up instantly.
- JohnSilent call received from this number 14:40, 20 Dec. We're ex-d, and TPS, but still we get these calls. Whatever it is we don't want it (unless they're giving free money away).
- EmmaI've had three calls today from this number with one of them just 5 minutes ago. I've now added them to my Choose To Refuse list.
There has been a huge increase in calls from odd numbers recently.....starting to wind me up so much I may even change my number.
Like most on here I'm ex-d so I'm guessing it's all random dial - AmandaJust got a call from this number. Tried to phone back and line dead!
- Jo DDoes anyone suspect a breech in confidentiality or stolen documents with our details on??
- Davidhad the same 'silent' call the other day. Thank you for this site and list. Very useful and now bookmarked. It's nice to know I'm not the only one getting these calls.
It certainly seems like there is either a shortage of operators OR some auto-play message is not playing. I've had calls in the past (not from this number) which have just been recordings - accident insurance if I recall. Using a 'revealed' number like this, means it gets past the usual blocks people have on their phones.
Hope we can nail this guy... - JohnA second call from this number, received 13:00, 21 Dec. Picked up phone and heard the ringtone change, then answered by "Kim", who sounded distinctly Asian. She rabitted on about 3G mobile phone technology. Refused to give a number to contact her on, then hang up on me.
Next time I get this call, I must remember to sound vaguely interested, giving her a chance to at least get through the first page of her telemarketing script. I will ask her about the weather, if she thinks English cricket is in terminal decline, does she take milk with her coffee, and so on. It's all about developing the listener's trust, and when this is done I will ask her to pick up the paperclip from her desk, straighten it out, and stick it in her eye. We'll see who hangs up first. If I can waste five minutes' of her time, it will be worth it. - KheraI had a call from this number and when I answered it rang and was answered by an Indian guy who said someone in the family had claimed for an injury recently and he wanted to talk about that. I said he has obviously got the wrong number and he wanted me give him my details! And the fact he kept calling me 'my dear'(yeah seriously!) it was all really creepy. So I promptly hung up! Some of my friends have and the same problem as well. I am registered with TPS and still don't seem to be able to shake off these cold calls.
- A different PaulHad a call from them last night, they said they were some kind of Accident Claim line. I said hang on, I'll go and get her, and then just left the phone off the hook. They went away, eventually.
- MarkHad this call about 5 minutes ago and It just hangs up. Next time I will be quicker to answer and I will post anyinformation I get on here!
- JeffIt's quite clear that TPS is limited in span - it only applies to legitimate, UK based companies. As someone else has said, a computer picks from a batch of numbers from their list and dials them automatically, first to pick up gets a telesales drone on the other end.
It's clear it's not a one man job, the company as mentioned before is Global Communications, which is based in India, and therefore outside the scope of TPS.
Right now there's no free alternative to reject those calls, BT's Choose to Refuse is great and call screening is effective, but wastes time and interrupts you.
I recommend tackling the problem at its source (short if invasion) - complain as much as you can to your MP, so they can put the issue forward to Parliament, as they are the only party powerful enough to stop cold callers from India and abroad. - LaurenceI have had a number of calls from this number. the phone just goes dead when I answer. I guess they want to phone back and pay the high call rate.
- NeilJust had a call from this number and all I got was an automated voice saying 'I'm sorry that extension number is not valid' or something similar.
This was the first call and having read the messages above I guess I am going to get some more. - samTHIS number just called me, asking if i had a mobile phone and i said yes just upgraded to an i phone
then he went on to ask me if i had a a morgage, and when i said weve payed it off, he tried to pronounce my last name, which isnt hard as its a very common name
he said is there anything we can do for you today, obviuosly i said no
so basically they are conning you to buy cover for your possesions hat is a bunch of crap tell them to straight up f**k off - alexWe've been getting these calls for weeks. Nice to know we're not alone! I agree with the earlier comment who says waste their time as much as possible. We're also TPS registered but still get calls, most go away when you mention TPS but few still persist. Haven't managed to speak to anyone from this one yet, quite looking forward to it!
- Caller: Wish I knew
- DI have just received a call from the 07012 212 212 number.
The guy told me he worked for Vodafone and asked if I was interested in changing networks. I asked him if I could call him back and he gave me the following number: 0808 238 8584. He said his name was Ron Thomas.
Well, if there are any of you tech people out there who can trace the number, please go ahead and stop the calls. - Scottget this recently always no answer or message, also get similar but number. withheld. it's about time the authorities with all the technology available to-day took some action over these calls.
- lynnthis number has called me numerous times, in which i have answered. like all the other statements on this site i rang back as there was no answer, and the number was not recognised
- Caller: wish i knew
- anoni just had a call from this number and so i quizzed the operator about the company. he claimed to be calling from an accident helpline or something. i asked for the name of the company having explained that i was going to trace where they got my number from - and the operator hung up!
