- daveynumber just foned me! asked me how i was then said i could get a new free nokia clearly gonna be on fonejacker
- DeborahNumerous telephone calls from this number selling mobile telephone contracts. They just won't give up! When they were told we were not interested they resort to the same person ringing and pretending to be different people. Do not give personal details to these people.
- Caller: Global Sapphire
- AnnaGrrr. They never pick up, but persist in dialling my number over and over again. It has been 8-10 times in the last 2 days. I've tried calling it back, but it tells me that the number isn't recognised.
I'm registered with TPS, but because they don't actually speak to me, there is nothing that TPS can do. I've registered with Silent Guard, but that is a voluntary service and I'm willing to bet these little sods aren't signed up, especially given they seem to be based overseas. Plus Silent Guard are very interested in hawking their little device that "only" costs 69.99. I've reported them to Virgins nuisance calls service, and it appears I'm not the only one. I just hope they stop, or at least I speak to a human so I can verbally eviscerate them. - Clairesame thing - calls about once or twice a day - I am getting really fed up with it
- Paul LJust received a call from this number - answered and there was silence then the line cut off. Why can't BT and the cable firms ban numbers like this!!!!!
- Caller: not known
- Traceythis guy just called and asked me what my moblie number was, as he could save me money. when i wouldn't tell him he told me i was an [***]. i asked which company he was from, he said go to hell. have i been fonejacked?!!
- Caller: global telecom
- skibkI had several of these calls a few weeks ago for all whole day two days running . Then it stopped for a bit. and today three consecutive times when I'd just sat down to eat my tea Friday evening - not the usual time for kitchens/window blinds etc.cold callers.
This is not the same thing - what the hell is the point??
To trick you into phoning back??
I had some text messages last year that took money from my phone I wonder if these calls can some how deficit landline bills . There is noone there when you answer I am on TPS (doesn't work)
Anywbody found out who these BA$£A@DS are??? - HeatherThere must be SOME way to stop the calls. I've been getting them for the last 2 weeks and decided to just not bother answering the calls any more if the caller id shows up. Though i'm so tempted to see if it rings after a while, try to get whoever it is angry enough to quit calling back, although it might just make things worse. If anyone has been hung up on these guys after talking to them could you re-post on here saying whether they stopped calling or not? Thankies :)
PS, Ours is ex-directory too. Infuriating. - Mark RuisUnintelligible asian accent asking questions to my pregnant fiance. They then hung up when clarity was asked for. We are registered with the TPS for > 1 year.
Can we send in THe Unit to neautralise?
Bang out of order, I hope the culprits arae found and dealt with in the appropriate manner.- Caller: unknown
- JimDI've had these calls twice a day, every day for 2 weeks now.I've never actually been around to answer the calls, but show up as missed calls on my handset.I know not to call them back as I checked the 070 Tariffs on BT's site.It doesn't make any difference if you're ex-Dir or not,They can get your number.
The number I get called on is NOT my landline but my BT Total Broadband Hub Phone No,which outside of BT only 5 people know!!!So,it's costing THEM money to call!!! Best of luck to them!!!!!D**kheads!- Caller: Unknown
- EI just got called by the same number...nothing was said..and after about 10seconds they hung up...I tryed calling back but the line didnt work..?
- fat daveBloke phoned, usual script, said he was from Global Telecom and they'd be sending me a phone in the next couple of days. Told him I wasn't interested, don't call back, and since we're registered with the TPS what he'd done was illegal, if he called back I'd sue him. Hung up. Next thing he's back on the phone threatening me, saying he'd give my number to everyone in the marketing department to call me every minute of every day. Hung up again.
- Mr. S.I had a call from this number on 18.4.08 and a call from 004074780000 on 24.4.08. I am registered with TPS and haven't had such calls for a while so I wonder whether the two are somehow related. Also they both phoned a bit after five o'clock. The number that starts with 070 looks like a mobile number. They tried offered me a 'free' mobile phone. I declined the offer because it's a contract phone and I didn't need another phone. I told the man on the phone that I wasn't interested in a contract mobile as soon as he mentioned the 'free mobile phone' but he went on - probably reading a script with the conditions of the offer. When he came to the bit about 'payment by direct debit' I repeated that I wasn't interested. He asked why and I explained. He didn't bother to thank me or say good bye.
The 0040 number is probably an overseas number. It seems that 0040 is the code for Rumania - I haven't worked out which city. They told me that I was selected for some promotion and told me to press 9 for further information, but I just hung up. It was a recorded message because I tried to tell them that they were not supposed to call my number as it was registered with TPS but the message went on, so obviously no one was listening.
It is best not to give any personal details in such calls and hang up as soon as possible. - Ewan O'RootAm I a bad person? I gave them a false name and Ofcom's address.
- IsabelleWhy aren't the phone companies blocking this number?
I answered one evening and just got silence on the line. Then I decided never to answer any of their calls but they still call every day.
Today they called twice, first time woke me up from my Saturday lie-in!
We're registered with the TPS.
How can we stop these scumbags from calling? - lorettadont call back those ppl try to steal ur numba some call and say call me right back and when u call they still ur # so do not call back
- Pete Braven-GilesThis number is run from a USA company, Call Centers India Inc.
Based in Seattle, their operations are run out a suburb of New Delhi and not much can be done by UK based regulators. As you will see from the 'Whois' entry, they seems to have bit of a problem with geography and the actual 'office' is not at that address.
Other agencies are probably aware of this bunch of scam artists.
