They're doing it again - landline text mesage  'I'm outside now'.
Can't this number be blocked permanently?

Just had a call twice this evening, asking me to ring 07953966066 to stop any more calls
needless to say I have not responed this is obviously a Scam......If you ring the number
you will probably get charges a fortune for the call...Dont do it folks.......

Just got a message on my landline didn't pick up in time so only got half message about would I like to pay my money as cash or on a invoice not  thinking just phoned this number who said this was a text from this mobile number tried to repeat the message and accidently deleted it glad I have now hope I don't receive a big bill at the end of the month

Got a call saying my name which freaked me out and how they don't have my address and something about collecting a ticket. What the hell? Then i called back this number and it was another voice message and then it ended it. So it was nothing. Probably a scam, don't be fooled. Weird how they knew my name though.... as it was on my house phone aswell.

A friend sent a text to my land line by mistake. I checked and this number came up. I could actually understand the message because he didn't use text language. You get garbled text messages on this service because the machine is not capable of understanding text language. There appears to be nothing sinister unless someone is deliberately texting malicious messages. Blame the sender not the system.

Barr the number on your mobile phone..just go to the apps store on your mobile and download call barring..its free.
Also go on line http://www.silentgard.com/register.aspx  and register all your land line numbers

Just had a text on my landline telling me 'hope you and greg can still come to dinner, I know what he likes no shellfish and sex' now im wondering who greg is and if he just doesn't like the shellfish with sex or if he doesn't like it at all? Needless to say I put the phone down and won't be calling back.

Just Received one of these Text message on my landline with a garbled nonsense message but asking me that if I wish to listen to the text message again, I had to ring a 09 fronted number (I can't remember any more of it!) and we all know that any number that begins with 09 are jolly expensive!
I would think it is a scam !

got a call at 7 am this morning and unlike most of you I did call it back and it just says to stop these calls press options. I phoned it back as my husbands gran is very ill and we thought the worst. these calls really  upset both of us as my dad is just out of hospital as well, took a while for both me and hubby to calm down ITS NOT FUNNY BEING WOKEN LIKE THAT especially due to family circumstances and this number should be removed for use. Has anyone thought about reporting it to the police???

I've received a message also asking me to call 07953966066, simply asking me to ring this number, no explanation given - so I googled it and found this forum. The 0800 number someone has kindly given below only seems to allow me to alter the curfew times when text message may not be sent as voice messages to my landline, default setting 11pm - 8am.
Does anyone know how I can stop this scammer contacting me?

Just had a call from this number. It's not a scam, but also not necessary: it's a text-to-voice service.

Someone sent me a text message to my landline. The landline in question is perfectly capable of receiving a text message (converted to an email), but some companies (a mobile company in this case) are now using these text-to-voice services. The fact that the speech engine is so poor makes then useless anyway.

I received one of these text messages this morning saying "Please help me". I didn't recognise the number (didn't make a note of it either, foolishly, before deleting it) but it did start wth 079. Looks like I've not been the only one who has had this sort of thing.

just had a call from this number saying that a text message saying I had a package for delivery, then jumbled talking. This is a scam to get you to call back and they collect the money from your phone account. Don't bother called back, just a hoax call.

I have received 8 calls on my aswer phone today all telling me to call 07953966066 to stop receivig these calls

Iv had two in a week from that no. On landline.
Called back on mobile. And just garbled message bout record a message.. non the wiser but hung up.

Got a call from this number today, asking if I had been abused by a celebrity, had I been 'serviced in Kevin Webster's garage' ....etc. etc. and asking me to call a number.  Is there no way the authorities can trace this revolting number and do something about the instigator - I could suggest ways of dealing with him/her/them but too polite to print it here.
