Is there anyway to trace the number of the sender

Had call of this number  saying that some one won't to get in touch with me but have used all there text up with virgin this month, so could I call them, I did not call the I'm glad I did not it a scam

Just had a call on my landline, I answered and it was a "text" message, it was read out by a computer voice and gave a mobile number and told me that my top up of £10 had been successful, then blah blah blah!.  It then repeated the message, then ended by telling me that I could hear this message again by calling 07953966066. I hung up and 1471'd it and the same number came up. I don't understand why people call these numbers back, If I don't know who it's from, then I don't call them back, if it is an important message from someone, they will call ME back.

I had a message from this same number at 19:00 ish last night.. as the call is filtered using a "TrueCall" unit, i only got the last part of the message that said something about "Blood line"  and in order to hear the message again to call this number 07792505373.

I've now blocked all calls from both such numbers.. as for those that have legitimate text messages from this number i would suggest getting a mobile and give them that number, in particular a smart phone will block unwanted calls and texts.

Sorry, to add to my last post.. I had the same message about the "blood line" from both these numbers.. 07953966066 and 07792505373, but asking to call 07953966066 in order to hear it again.

Just had this call. Phone rang on landline and message said 'what is this number'. I hate these 'people' who try and scam us and scare us. I'm scared of answering my phone at all now. Won't be picking it up to that number again.

Further to my last post I have now used the BT text to speech line and blocked all text messages to my landline. Don't want it to happen again.

Received a call from this number this morning, they left a message which said "Sex"   About an hour later another message left by them saying something about received reference and dial another mobile number    also mentioned sex again.   Just ignoring it     Every time they phone and leave a message its costing them    Just don't phone their number sounds like its a scam

Hope this works, just called both numbers to stop the harassment!  50 calls all diverted to my mobile, adds up to a months phone bill without me even making a call!  Thanks for this advice.

I received a call from this number at 12.10pm today and as I work nights, it was very annoying and frustrating to receive the call. A member of my family is unwell at present and I thought the 'phone call may have been an update on that person's condition. But no, it was a scam call. As Helen asked,  (over six years ago!!!), how do we stop these calls and why do we get them!!??. An answer would be appreciated.

I have received several recorded messages which instruct me to download the tango app. As I have truecall installed due to the level of nuisance calls I had been getting, the initial number seems to have been truncated. However it goes on to say that if I ring 07953966066 I can hear the message again.

If it is a sales call they have lost one potential customer, if it is one of their subscribers then this is another nuisance call which is going to be blocked.

Update to previous message: True call records the originator as coming from this number and that it was a text message, being sent to my landline, which I do not expect to receive texts on. number now blocked.
It MAY be that the start of the message was cut off by true call as the automated caller software did not allow for the true call screening messages, their problem, not mine, as I do not welcome cold nuisance automated calls.

Just had a call from this number which cut of as soon as I answered (2nd bell). Rang me back again and left a message asking me to ring back.
Checked on this site and this number has a record as far back as 2007.

basically it's a messaging service that tells you messages sent to your landline, I recognised it was from someone I tried to contact earlier today, the service also gave me options to turn off the service or to receive them at certain times of the day. I am with sky so not sure if they have anything to do with it, as I don't have my voicemail activate yet.

here's hoping it does turn off the service as it's option 3 was to do that.

So basically this nonsense time wasting and possibly money costing scam has been going on for 7 years and not one official body has been able to do anything about it. Shame on the entire world's telecom services. Proof positive that they only care about their profit and dont give a damm about their customers.

Just had a call from 07953966066 and it was a text message barley eligible, but said something on the lines of needing to borrow a suitcase for a week help me out sexy people. It also said to call if wanting to know more, this must be a scam do not call back !!!!

Have you got a caller display ?, if not consider getting one they are available from around £30 ,you can then filter out any unwanted calls and just don't answer the phone to that particular number or any withheld or unavailable numbers !...if its important they will leave a message,if its no they wont..,,best of luck anyway .!

This text message on my home phone asked me to call this number as they were out of credit. If they're out of credit how can they receive my call?
