Mine was a text message to my landline phone from a mobile. It was wishing me a Happy New Year. The landline turns the written message to a verbal message. The sender probably sent to my landline by mistake.

I'm sure nothing to worry about. I received a call this morning wishing me Happy New Year. I think someone sent to me from their mobile, but instead of sending to my mobile they sent to my landline phone. The landline phone converts the written message to verbal message.

Just got a call on home phone. When picked up there was a recording saying something like - congratulations, good news...... I then put the phone down did 1471 and got this number

Something very odd about this. Have received 3 calls on our landline in the last 12 hours, all giving different mobile numbers. Each time the call says the message is blank. I don't recognise any of the numbers.

Calls have continued all day. At worst over 10 minutes every time I hung up they rang again. Each time mobile number given was different. If this is tmobile / virgin they need to sort it pdq!
Reported to ICO for what it is worth.

I wrote this - but have since found out it is in fact from a real text to speech service - I have since heard from the friend who sent the text

Had this call about 30 mins ago and couldn't understand it. They said the message came from a mobile phone and gave the number but I didn't recognise it. Then they said the message was blank. I give up. They sound like total imbeciles.

Got a call from this number when my daughter accidentally texted my landline. It's a text to landline rmessage relay service that doesn't work. The message was completely garbled.
This company obviously has no effective quality control measures. They are irresponsibly causing distress to lots of people (see lots of sites like this for proof) providing a crappy service. Worst of all it's leaving people who may genuinely need to relay messages to you, that you may need to get, with the impression they've successfully contacted you and that they don't need to try again.
It's taking money for messing up lives.

Phone call at 10pm from this number is unknown to me

Got a strange and unexpected call from the same number 07953966066 at 6 am this morning. By the time my partner answered they'd hung up. Definitely some sort of nutter(s)

Someone rang me from this number last night at 10.45 pm.

2 calls this morning in my landline. One at approx. 5.30am and another at approx. 6.40am. When I ring from my mobile, it tells me it's "Fixed Line Text Service". It then goes on to tell me how to record my name for the service, then hangs up.

Text message. Called landline. Could not understand the caller. No way will call this. Happened half an hour ago. Seems like this number has been around for a while. Why is it still operating.

DON'T CALL THIS NUMBER BACK ON YOUR MOBILE!
It will send you a virus that will hit your adress book. I found it when I went to send a single text and my phone queried it with "You are sending a large number of texts. Do you wish to continue?". I don't know what else it might do.
I (belatedly!) updated my anti-virus and got rid of it.

I received a message from this number stating that I had sent a text to my work number which I indeed had. I found it odd that this number knew I had sent a text so I did not reply but blocked the caller. Prior to this another number (+27 (77) 7 ) sent me a text saying they would translate my name for me ! Again odd ! Prior to ALL of these events I was researching Badoit water which in themselves have a very non " committal " website when all a customer wants to do is email them ? All a rather strange sequence of events and something that does not happen to me normally. I hope that this helps you. Regards

Phone call received just now on landline, automated service to say I was sent a text message which says 'Hello'.
Not responding to that!
