Deary me. Monkeys learn quicker than some of you people. Its not a scam. Its someone (perhaps accidently, probably maliciously) texting your landline from a T-mobile phone.

T-mobile obviously have a service that will call the landline number then text-to-voice the message at the recipient landline.

If you receive a "garbled message" on your voicemail, with this number as the caller ID, this is because the service does not recognise that it is not a person answering but a voicemail system. Thus, the text message will start to be read as soon as the phone answers, despite your voicemail message blabbing about "no one being able to take your message etc." before it starts recording.

Alan - I suggest you cancel your phone line. This way you get to stop having the calls, and also you can stop wasting the time of the police, BT, and T-mobile who I would imagine all have better things to do than listen to your self-important whining. I expect you have annoyed someone who is taking some kind of childish revenge on you.

Aysha - it doesnt sound wierd to me. Sounds like your husband probably was cheating on you and someone decided to send a text to your landline to let you know the news.

I had my phone installed with BT and within 90 minutes had a text from 07953966066 with a blank text message. Having googled the number I came up with this site and found the answer to blocking texts messages into my landline, so thank you to all who have posted the solution!

got a few calls from this number and called it back after checking here

as others said it is a text service from anyone texting from a a t mobile number to a landline, on calling i was played the message immediately and also given the number of the person who'd sent it, and also given the option to prevent t mobile users from sending text messages to my landline in future, or set the hours in which they can do so

all in all took less than 2 minutes, not a scam, just another annoying way people can choose to contact you, i recommend phoning it and getting the number of whoever texted you in the first place and stopping the service at the same time.

The phoen rang at 03.35am in the morning and a garbled text message played - "hello this is a message from (??? missed the name)  your account has not been used for 9 years to reactivate this in the next week please (???missed the end of the message) Then I put the phone down,,  Did a 1471 and said number was from 07953 966066

Had a call from this number at 3-35 a.m. this morning. Garbled electronic womans voice said "Please ring my landline to morning". The "to" is not a mistake!
Said it originated from 07799712897.
Will not be replying!!

07953 966066 - This is bona fide voice text number from the T-mobile network. It means someone has tried to send you a text message - normally to a landline number. The reason it asks you to call back from the landline that received the message is so that it can recognise your call and play back the message again. It is therefore up to you if you want to call the number back to get the message. It will not cost you the earth - just a normal landline to mobile rate.
If this were a scam, the number would have been cancelled a long time ago judging by the number of responses you get from typing it into a search engine.

My parents had a a voice text on 1571 at 4:15am this morning!!! i called the number back 07953966066 it gave me a list of options so i pressed 1 to hear the messages. it read " you awake, im suffering " obviously this upset my parents after being woken up they then thought it would be a member of the family! now im worried as i investigated a bit for them this morning its obviously a scam but i called back... so now waiting for my phone bill to come back!!!!!! anyone know anything more about this?

This number call 10 times in 3 hours today between 2am to 5am says if i like sey talk,  this must be some kind of sex line, (may  report to the police and i think i will)  what if my child had pick the phone up if it had been in the day

has a call last night at 12am asking if i wonted to listen to some talking sexy,  07953966066 needs reporting who do i rep[ort it to,

it is a miss use of the number and it needs stoppping

who number this is needs finding and sending down, my 10 year children pick up the phone, and was ask if she wonted to listen to sexy talk and works where unsed she did not understand and she had to ask me.

I am getting loads for calls from 07953 966 066, which I gather is Virgin Media Text. The messages say to call 07953 966 066 to stop getting these messages. Why should I have to pay to call this number to stop messages I never asked for? Is there a weblink that I can use to stop these messages?

this number has been calling from the  24-12-09 from around 4pm and has been calling all night,  

i am not happy with them took the phone off the huck around 10pm last night and put it back on this morning and it started phoning back.

got a call from this number.  on answering the recorded message was foreign, female, offering sex, sex and more sex - they used my name.  I hung up.
I have just got a T-Mobile sim card in my new phone.  Coincidence?
