She/He did the gumtree advert to me too, asking for ukash voucher and send a sofabed via parcelforce, i was lucky and didn't send the code.thank god for my local convenience store man who pre warned me and i checked it out further

and this Kayak from her too....luckily no money was handed over, but emails from her have disappeared from my gmail account. Anyone know how this happened ?

I got the same thing! bought the ukash voucher but didn't send it, but ukash won't give a refund so i'm furious about that but i'm so glad i didn't send the voucher code.

Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge hihi company benefits :) .

I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.

If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Second option - if you want to pop in and collect you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around.
Let me know either way. No need to worry If my reply is delayed since I'm just having fun working long hours ... or not :))

Same here, supposedly buying a guitar from pamela75hogan@gmail.com. Same e-mails too, I thought it was a bit odd.

I've also reported to Gumtree but I doubt they'll be able to do much due to the number of aliases they use.

I suspect this may be an offshore scam based on the language used in the e-mails, it was that raised my suspicions in the first place.

I only started to realise that when no responce after sending £300 by ukash. I have the email, can the police catch them with it?

Sorry to hear you got caught by this scammer Logan, I was lucky and found this site which confirmed my suspicions. No idea if they can be caught as it's hard to tell if they're even in the UK, the best thing to do is report it to the NFO on the link above, if enough people do that they will have to investigate.

Also report to Gumtree, they're looking at my case at the moment, so more info on this scammer might see them find a way to ban them permanently

3.Great, I've just finished filling out the forms online and scheduled the delivery for Friday am, 9-10am ( at your end). Parcel Force will also handle the payment. If you'll accept and sign for the parcel the driver will then leave you a receipt and bac's me afterwards. They sent out an email notification on how to proceed. Did you received it ? Check your spam or junk folder as well, maybe it got caught in there.

I've also received a copy of the payment instructions. They do indeed take payments in cash but not directly, it seems you'll need cash to buy an UKASH voucher from a shop, newsagent or supermarket that has the PAYPOINT sign. The voucher is the receipt you'll need to show to the driver who will scan the barcode and payment is complete :) nothing simpler.
You'll need to scan the UKASH voucher or take a close-up picture using your mobile phone and reply with it to the email from parcelforce. Here www.paypoint.co.uk you can find the nearest shop and ask for the voucher.

Yup just got caught by Pamela Hogan - thank goodness it was only for £60 feel for all the others who were conned out of 100s.  Shame the Police are not more interested in catching this fraudster who is making thousands out of us innocent victims.

I've almost been scammed by this number, under the name of melanie ward. Couldn't believe it! Gumtree, about a sofa.

She is now Mel Harper! 17/10/12. My newsagent told me to be careful as i was going to buy a £160 guitar through this. SOOOO glad I read this message when I got back from shop. I thought I had a bargain. Disgusting. Thanks tho...
