Have just managed to wise myself up and avoid being scammed out of £190 for a 2008 windsurf board that goes for £600 usually (being 1600 new 4 years ago) , I replied to an ad on gumtree and had the same as everyone else here

Unfortunately I've just got called into the office (i get sent countrywide with less than 24hrs notice) so very busy till next week. Back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge :)  company benefits :)  .

I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.

If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Working long hours so If you want to pop in and pick it up you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around  :)

Saw an Akto tent on Gumtree for £140 - Thought it was too good a price but wrote to see if still for sale (add had been on display for Over 1 month)  Gave my phone no and gt a text from Stacey75stone.  Odd thing was - no number on my phone only 'stacey.s.ip'  which I thought strange.  Decided to googe 'her' name.  Found this site / forum and so glad I did !  So many scammers on Gumtree!

I have just been scammed by Stacey Stone this weekend. Sadly I was gullible enough to do the ukash thing and have lost £90 paying for a kayak that doesnt exist. I could cry! Look out for stacey75stone@gmail.com. Exactly the same emails as others have received. An expensive lesson learnt. I really hope they stop her/him.

My husband has just emailed the same gumtree ad and he/she is now using the name helen75watson@gmail.com. Beware of any Helen Watson gumtree ads.

My husband nearly parted with £460 for a bike to helen75watson@gmail.com. Exactly the same messages. Thank god for google.

Yup, same here - I saw a kayak on eBay, then saw it again on Gumtree for a bargain price so I emailed the seller and got a weird text from Helen Watson requesting that I email her about it. Just had the email about visiting her mum and what was my postcode, so replied. Then I googled the number and found out about the scam. Scary stuff, although there's no way I'd have handed over any cash without the goods.

Just had the same email from Helen Watson. Luckily I wont get caught out.
I'm going to give them the runaround, will reply to the message as they already have my address anyway.

Obviously I wont pay and after a few days I will reply thanking them for the brilliant windsurfing board I received :-)

I think if we all give them the runaround then they will waste time and it may put them off.
Obviously everyone should also report the advert to gumtree.

Regarding the payment you'll need cash to buy the voucher. Here www.paypoint.co.uk you can find the nearest shop and ask for the ukash voucher. Scan it or take a close-up picture using your mobile phone of the ukash voucher and reply with it to the email from parcelforce.
