This number has just called me twice in a minute on my mobile, I didn't answer. IF it is BT they don't have this mobile number as it's one I never use. I do not owe any money to BT and have not had a fault, new line or anything else with them.

This IS a genuine BT customer service number. I just had a call from them on this number following up on a fault with my broadband that I had reported. The guy just wanted tho check if my service was resumed and didnt try to sell anything. I recomend anwering the call but as with ANYONEcalling YOU, I strongly suggest not giving any payment card details.

I had a missed call from this number yesterday, no message left. I suspect that it is from BT sales because I started an application for their broadband service a few days ago but then
hesitated and stopped before reaching the end. I've already had one email from ecommerce@bt encouraging me to finish. They must have monitored my application even though I didn't finish, and harvested my email from it. Big Brother or what?!

From this number an American who couldn't tell her [***] from her elbow. Claimed that my bill hadn't been paid and that my direct debit had been cancelled... I assumed that she was a scammer so ended the call. Looked at my bank balance and I had paid yesterday by direct debit as usual.

Called up BT to ask what's going on, claimed no knowledge of the call and said my bill was paid in full.

Called the number that had called me and was informed that BT were trying to contact me and they'd call me back soon.

eh?

Just instructed BT to divert calls to my mobile whilst they deal with landline fault. All I got was a series of SMS messages in the form of " 08000285085 " which I could not reply to, even though I followed instructions to remove the first 0.

Have checked my balance just incase.

Just got a call from this number at 2:32 in the morning...  WTF are you thinking BT?
BT number 1 for bad everything..  Bad Broadband, Bad Phone & Bad Support Service.
My BT issues have not been solved yet and it's been ongoing for months.  Then they do this to top it off.

this number rang 4 times on mobile - if its BT which i think it is as i logged a call yesterday regarding shoddy broadband - not even at dial up speeds !!!! they need to realise people work and rining at 9:15 i wont answer my phone as its im my pocket as i ride.
Im sure the Email stated a time to call and i said after 3pm !!!!

#this call came a couple of hours after reporting a broadband telephone fault. Nothing on call minder, jusrt said they will call again. Don't answer the phone m,uch because of the incessant incoming calls offering crap even though I'm on TPS. Looks like it could be BT, or just coincidence, if it is BT why not leave a message on Answerphone?

Rang back using 141 recorded  message"Hello this is BT we tried to call you but you did not answer, if we need to we will call you again" Seems genuine to me but I wish they would send an SMS as they said they would. I think we have to be careful of the comments on these sites. Some people seem to think this is a scam number, could be the mistyped the number or the number has moved from where it was. It is a free phone number so the likely hood of it being a scam is probably  quite small.

Just to clarify - this is definately BT.  I currently have a fault with my line and they use this number to contact me on with any updates.

this number called me numerus times up until 3.30 am in the morning after i reported a fault with my bt broadband.
unfortunatley bt have no complaints department.
so theses jokers are getting away with murder.

I left a post on the BT Forum and was asked to send details to the moderator of the forum. The moderator called me back on this number to discuss the problem, so I guess it is a genuine BT number.

why do i keep getting calls non stop from 08000285085  its so annoying???

im constantly getting calls from this number, if its bt then they should leave a message for me to contact them, i have no line fault no broadband problems and havent contacted them for months so i dont see why they are harrassing me

i am no longer a bt customer assumed it was the sales dept trying to convince me to come back. guy on the phone was very rude and i hung up the phone, he phoned straight back shouting at me for hanging up on him! called back several times and I ignored the phone. background noise didn't sound like a call centre. suspect a scam now worried what my next phone bill is going to be!!

I have also had problems with his number AND a scam letter from them too.Letter arrived yesterday with a really shoddy attempt at BT letterhead and they didn't even have our correct company name,saying we owed them £238.I rang our contact for Bt who confirmed that we are totally up to date as we pay by direct debit.Just had the American lady ' Grace' call to try and get my bank details for this overdue payment.I informed her that I have checked with BT that we are in credit and passed on the details of scam letter and persistent phone calls.She hung up!! This is a scam , this is NOT BT
