keep calling saying they are BT and that we owe them money from 3 months ago, hello, no we dont!

ive seen that all these comments were posted 10 years ago but i just got a call from that very number i said hello and got cut of

This number just called. As I screen calls it went to answer phone, they disconnected but it played static noise for a good minute before finally cutting off.

"unknown caller" from 08000285085 called my mobile. When I answered there was no reply.  I called the number and a recorded message said it was BT and they were trying to contact me and if I do not want to receive calls from them I need to phone 080002822072 - when I phoned this number is was a promotional message promoting reservations to WALT DISNEY TRAVEL WORLD!!!  -  I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact I cancelled my BT Phone & Broadband service 2 days ago?  I have never received "junk" calls before.

Had a call from this number this afternoon. Heavily accented woman claiming to be chasing up TV license payment. Jokers.

Answer phone kicked in and all I had was static. No message just static. Had this 4 times yesterday and twice today before 09:00. 😡😡😡😡😡

Had a call from 08000 285 085  claiming to be the finance department for BT... I asked them to take my number off their records... they sadly refused...

It was on Wednesday 20 June 2018 that I found that there was a website   "whocallsme.com" in the dailymail.  It was on Saturday 25 March that I received a call from a person who needed to be given training on answering the phone.  It was not clear what he was talking about but from what I gathered  from the long winded  conversion  he was trying to sell me Broadband which I did not request.  The first sentence was  "You owe us money".  I put the telephone down only for him to keep pestering me.  The reason why I am emailing now is that I have only just became aware of this website  "whocallsme.com"

Received a fake BT Bill and regular phone calls claiming to be from BT.

Not a genuine number. Called me three times a day every day for the last week. Today I managed to answer it and got 34 minutes of complete silence before they hung up.

Same as above - my advice - get a BT phone unit with TruCall built in - it gives you a number of options: a tel directory for numbers you store & know & which automatically get through; filtering calls with an autobot so you decide whether to answer and, a number block, which unwanted numbers can be assigned to so if they ring again they can't get through. I've had it for 2 years and can count on one hand the number of nuisance calls received. Needless to say, 08000285085 is now on the blocked list!

Received silent call from 08000285085 after a “Chat” with BT via BT online (which was ignorantly cancelled by them before I could complete my reply) about a previous suspected spam static call from 021633065158 claiming to be BT London. Upon phoning 08000285085, thinking it was BT, I was told to call another number if I wanted to be taken off their list. No idea what it was all about.

rang me twice asking to speak to Mrs.Robinson....I am MALE,sole occupier and a/c holder so it's definitely some attempt at scamming people.Very persistent...woman with asian accent.

Definitely a fraud.  We do not have BT.

6.30 in the evening I had a call to my mobile, which I hardly ever use.  Foreign accent said it was BT and about my direct debit.  They had my correct surname.

100% SCAM!! BT have confirmed it to me!!!!!

Have had two consecutive calls from Asian women purporting to be from BT. They are not from BT, they are scammers and should not be given any information.

Be Careful - There have been many shill here in this thread.
When you get a call like this, remember that the number and name you see in your caller ID can be spoofed - faked.  Why take a chance?

Call your bank or CC company using the number on the back of your card or a number you KNOW is correct and that you dial yourself.  That way you can safely check the status of your account.

Oh it's bt.they called not long ago...phone crackles the much couldn't hear anything so hung up.n thought I'd google see who it was
