have been getting a couple of calls a day to my mobile, but always when I'm not with it!!

When I call the number back I get the BT message also.

Ive had this number- and no message left.
Have been slow at paying my BT bill this quarter so probably someone from a call centre abroad trying to bully me into paying it before I can afford it!
Tough- they can wait!

This number calls me non-stop until i answer then re-calls after an hour, its from BT because i haven't paid on time, so annoying

Bt is calling me to appologise instead of doing some work

For the past couple of months I have been getting calls from this number too. Usually very early in the morning between 6 and 8 am or late at night. When I pick up they hang up. I am therefore very worried that someone is hacking into my line or somehow using my BT account illegally. I have called BT but they say there is nothing on their system showing that anyone from BT has called me. I don't know how to stop it or who to contact.

Answered my phone last night and they instantly hung up??? they never phoned me back....so i will wait.

I have just cancelled my BT braodband.
The guy called me back with my cancelation ref on this number 08000285085.
So seems pretty gnuine.
My be it's a pooled call-centre, ie. working on behalf of several companies inc BT.
I didn't know "pooled" call-centres existed until last weeek when my nephew started working for one!

i just got a call from this number but missed it so i rang them back. it was a ladies voice saying it was BT and that they'd call us back if they still needed to contact us. didn't sound professional though- weird? don't think you need to be worried though, probably more of a nuisance than anything else?

received call from this number 08000285085 late monday 24th march 2008 didn't answer it as number is not known to me.

I have just received a call from this number ....... the foriegn fella said he was from BT and could i confirm my address for security reasons, i said you know my address as you have just called me, i refused to confirm my address and he got very crabby with me and told me he will restrict my number! Then hung up on me when i asked to speak to a manager.

The thing is i am late in paying my bill but i called BT this morning and sorted out when i will make payment so there would be no need for this call..

This number is from the bt survey which adks you how you fell your call went  when you have phoned
them the automated service phones you back.

Why would this forum exist if it was genuine? And why would they (if it's BT) call my mobile?

That's ridiculous! It's a marketing scam, and the guy is trying to get bank details fom people so he can make a fortune! That's all it is.

I called BT whilst typing this, and they say that this number is no-longer in use by them. Nor has it ever been used to test phone lines, or as a Customer Service line. That's from BT's Duty Supervisor.

My advice, (and his) do NOT answer this call! - I didn't, and after talking to BT, I'm really glad!

This number called me 8.20pm. All there was was a girl giggling and no responding to my 'Hello?'. I put the phone down.

Definitely BT. I received a call on my Mobile from this number but on answering the call hung up. I then discovered that I had missed a call from the same number on my landline and a message had been left. The content of the message was something that only BT would know about.

I got a call from this number. The voicemail that was left was from a chap in BT complaints dept. Seems genuine to me.

Following my message of 05/04, this number is definitely BT. I had a problem with changing DDM details but received call from an Operator on this number to my Mobile( Diverted from my Landline). He stated that due to their error £30 would be credited to my BT Account and it has been. I wish some of the other commentators would stop being so paranoid and reading falsely between the lines!. As for calls in the middle of the night etc. a lot of the Operatives are in The Indian Sub Continent and surprise surprise they are in a different time zone to us in the U.K.
