- ras ripjust checked this internet site to see if i could find out about this number (0800641087) I have just received my first phone call from them on my Orange PAYG phone also...I answered the call but heard nothing on the other end of it.. Any ideas?
- ras rip| 2 repliesMe again.
Did some more research and found this...
The number is from LBM Marketing!!! I answered but nobody was on the line, after a little digging on the internet i found out that it was LBM, so i found a number for them 01619 295799. I spoke to a nice lady there who confirmed it was them and they do campaigns for busnisses like O2 and vodafone and permission was given from them to contact me. I explained nobody has permission from me and i am EXTREMELY vigilant when it comes to giving out my info. I asked her to take my number and consent away. As far as i know, this has been done. Only time will tell.
Why don't we all call this number and give them some hassle back and complain!!! I am sure they will appreciate it :> if it is ok for them to do it to us, then we can do the same back. - LynneThi is an O2 number and they are getting your details from an O2 marketing page as you are on it unless you tell them otherwise . I have just phoned O2 and asked to be taken off it ,which they are going to do . I am also going onto www.ppsonline.org.uk and taking my name off that one aswell . Hope this helps .

- Stop Thecalls replies to jedijones666Very helpful. Used it and managed to stop 5 - 6 calls a week.
- Neota| 1 replyMy sister got a call from a man claiming to be from O2 in Manchester, asked to confirm her name, d.o.b and address - note he didn't address her by her name or seem to know very much about her. The only info he seemed to know is that her PAYG sim card is 5 and a half years old. He said that her sim card 'is not compatible with 3G' as she now has a 3G phone (I've checked and the 3G works fine - as far as I know it's the phone that needs to be 3G compatible, not the sim - correct me if I'm wrong).
He offered her unlimited texts, unlimited internet and 100 minutes for £10 a month PAYG top up. She said this sounded good and the next thing he wanted to send her a new sim card, but in order to do that the first £10 needed to be direct debit and he wanted her account number and sort code.
I don't care if they are working legitimately for O2, I would never give bank details over the phone and when she came to me and my parents we told her to go and hang up. I presumed it was a scam but after looking it up it seems this is a legit company working on behalf of O2 and other networks. I don't see why she should have to give bank info for a single D/D payment (he said she could cancel after the first one and top up normally). That is out of order and O2 should not be contracting them to do this kind of work.- Caller: LBM Marketing (claiming to be O2)

- Ian replies to NeotaJust had another call frm this number clicked on answer button then placed it on the bed and left it, after a while could hear a voice going hello hello, think they might have taken the hint.
- CaroleI have been phoned twice by this number now. 02 never call only text you. I got stropped with him as I did not trust him and he wanted to say i had loyalty or something to use and how many people in the household and what network were they on and kept repeating the question to me and repeating my name i told him to get lost.
- Caller: 02
- sonnypon| 1 replyI received a call from this number today at around 1630hrs. It was a marketing call on behalf of O2.
If you want your number removed from the marketing service call 0800 013 6671, PRESS 1 to remove details from their database, they will read back your contact number to you and then PRESS 1 again to confirm.
If you take no action, you will receive another call. Only way to stop them is by doing this or actually speaking to them and we all know how annoying and pushy they can be!- Caller: on behalf of O2
