Report a phone call from 08000852652 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Anon| 1 replyIt seemed to me that instead of leaving silly messages on the internet the most obvious way to find out if this number is a genuine call from Barclays is to phone them and ask; which I did and it is.
- Caller: Barclays

- Caller: Barclays
- jj| 1 replyYet another call from Barclays. Despite me telling them every time not to call again, and them promising not to. Why should I have to make an effort to go into Barclays - which I never visit - to tell them no to call me. Especially annoying as despite a joint account they always ask for my husband, who funnily enough is at work during working hours. I however work from home so have to interrupt my work to take annoying calls - and thats only when they can be bothered to talk.
- Caller: Barclays
- Anon| 1 replyHaving received repeated calls from the 0800 number I have reported the number to Ofcom for further investigation and possible prosecution. I referenced this site in the complaint so that Ofcom can see that the caller is repeatedly misusing the 0800 number.

- Priss replies to AnonGot a call from this number today, I tried calling their Telephony fraud number to confirm whether it was genuine:
(bogus calls purporting to be from Barclays) Call 0845 755 5555 – lines are open 7am to 11pm every day.
Spoke to someone with an indian accent, he was unable to confirm whether this number is genuine! I have told him what it was about etc and he said Barclays dont call customers for account reviews! Not helpful at all. Might have to change my bank soon as I find half of their customer service is not up to standard. - stop being paranoid replies to jjbecause maybe it is part of the terms of your account they can contact you???
also, what are jsual working hours? ask a fireman or a police officer or a taxi driver.......... - MikeThis number has been calling, me home phone, my parents house and also my girlfriends mobile. possibly a vodaphone number, caller mainly rings and then hangs up.

- WilliamHad call today, they said it was Barclays Bank ?
- MJPGot a call today from this number, after hours: 19:13, a native English sounding lady, and said she was from Barclays. She said she wanted to discuss something about my account, and asked me for my DOB and last two digits of my mothers' maiden name. After having given those, she said the system wouldn't allow her to get into my account now, and said I should call them back later or go to the bank for a review of my account (which I never asked for). She spoke quite fast and kept down the phone quickly. I am not even sure what was being offered, if there was anything to be offered.
It sounded a bit suspicious, after having given those details, googled in and this is where I landed. Cant say if it was phishing one or a genuine one, till something goes wrong with my bank account, identitiy or credit report. Seems to be genuine from reading the above 22 pages.- Caller: Barclays (so they said)
- StephRecieved a call from these last night at 7:45 ish. They asked for my DOB before they could discuss my account with me. I commented that they should have the same on record and she told me she did but she needed to check who she was speaking with - THEY PHONED ME!.. I explained i wasnt going to give them my details and they could send me whatever that had out to my home address which they would also have on record, apprantly they couldnt do this either! I stated i was busy and cut the phone call!... is this a scam ??
- princeGot a call from this number 4 times in the same day but when I received to the last call none talked a single word.....its so annoying indeed.... :(

- Ben| 1 replyGot a call from this number today, could hear someone talking and I said "Hello?" a couple of times, then they hung up on me.
- Sarah replies to BenI am a Barclays customer and just called them and was told this is a Barclays number and they are calling to promote new products.
I asked them to put on my notes that I do not wish to recieve calls of this nature! Lets see if they take any notice!
All banks want to "give you umbrellas when the sun is shining"!!!!! - CarolineI was called by this number purporting to be from Barclays - and doing a check on my account. Wanted answers to my security questions. Was quite pleasant when I refused.
- Caller: Barclays
- Crossy| 1 replyIf they are Barclays as they insist, then they rang me. Therefore must know who I am. SO why do they need me to tell them my details?
- Caller: Barclays?
- poppygot a call this number this afternoon from them and they asked for someone else who has never lived with me. Just said there was nobody of that name living here. didn't give out any information, as have been a customer of barclays for about 30yrs so was very dubious about why they would ask for someone else!
- HeatherJust got a call on my mobile from this number. A man with a southern English accent said he was calling from Barclays about my account and 'not to worry' but he was calling about the data protection act. Then he said he needed to identify me. I was suspicious as he called me and now wants to extract personal info?? I don't think so. I said no and that I did not feel comfortable. He said he expected to be challenged and to prove he was from Barclays he would confirm the details on my debit card!!! I said I was ending the call and hung up. Very suspicious.
- Caller: Barclays - or so they said!
- PeteI informed the caller that as far as I know he could be the russian mafia and that I would be prepared to give my details as long as he told me his mothers maiden name. His date of birth and his account number. He thought I was being unreasonabe and said he could not continue the call.
It worked for me!
