Still doing the rounds claiming to be Barclays.  I claimed not to be me saying who they wanted was out and they said they would try later or Monday. Asked if they were really Barclays got an 'of course' answer.

I was called today from this number. said  he was from barclays and when i asked him how he intended to prove it he said he would give me my last 8 numbers of my account.the purpose of his cal was to see if i was getting the most out of my accounf. Im sorry that i was a bit short with him but i automatically go in to protection mode and told him i thought the interest rate stinks which is why i moved my two ISAs to a building society (he would already know this I expct) but I was more than happy with my current account and it gave me everything i need. ( People moan about banks robbing the public but they are a business and not a charity, if used properly thay are fantastic and ive been with Barclays for over 40yrs and have had no issues with them, ive been incredibly poor and apart from odd overdraught charges in the early days has not cost me a penny.) So this call may well have been Barclays but seen too many fraud cases to risk it.

This is a scam.  For "security" they asked for letters from my mother's maiden name.  I have never provided that information to Barclays so knew it was completely bogus.  Geordie bloke rang me, sounded a bit disappointed when I told him I was hanging up.

Hung up when answered not saying who the caller was or from what company called the number back claiming to be Barclays supposedly?

Same number, but says they are work and pensions. trying to give me money back they owe. After hanging up, they kept trying to call back. You’d think they would be smart enough to use a different number than the Barclays scam one.

Careful - that doesn't necessarily confirm the call is genuine. There's software freely available that can spoof any number the scammers want to, so they can appear to be from any organisation they claim to be. Never give information, including passcodes or OTPs to a cold caller and never log into a computer on their say-so.

I think Barclays Bank has now a very bad reputation ... why is it always from Barclays I am now going  to transfer my account to another bank

I recieved a missed call from this number. Spoke to Barclays as per some of the other entries however it isn't one of theirs so can only assume it is a fraud. Ignore seems to be the best adice!!

Why would the same number call for years on end to say they are reviewing your account if its not genuine?
Your bank will never ask you for BANKING information and NEVER ask you to move money or trick you into moving money to another account number that they provide to you.

Got a call this morning saying it’s Barclays and asking for my mother’s maiden name as my security question I said I’m not comfortable giving this info!

This IS A SCAM!!! BEWARE this is how it works. They phone you, say they are from such and such a bank. They ask you dodgy questions and you get suspicious. The call is ended somehow. YOU use your phone to ring a LEGITIMATE bank number, but really the scammer knows that for at least a minute the line to YOUR phone is still connected to THEM! They (scammer) pretend to be real Bank, give you lots of sympathy and ASK YOU FOR YOUR ACCOUNT Details and mothers name. YOU GIVE it to them and BINGO, they are into your account very quickly. NEVER NEVER NEVER discuss your Bank details unless YOU CALLED THEM in the first place.
