My wife received a call from them asking for bank details & changes. Asked if they could use her fore-name.....then hung up. I said not to phone back as I was concerned. I went in to my local Barclays  who began an immediate investigation.

Hi keep getting calls from this number  they say it's barclays, but it's not I called into my local branch and they said they DO NOT do cold sales calls, SO PLEASE BE A WHERE IT'S NOT BARCLAYS

caller said she was from barclays. i dont think so was my reply to her & I put the phone down

I received a call from this number today. A lady voice from other end said it was about the offers from the barclays bank. Immediately I refused to entertain over the phone saying I cant talk to you about the bank issues. I can call you back if you write me a letter and if I want to contact you further.

Scam call !!!!!

I answered this number only to hear people talking in the background then they hung up.

was called by this number the caller was very friendly gave detalls will be calling baclays to check that this was a call from them.

Thought it was another marketing call and it was.

Nothing to worry about. Its just Barclays doing a 'customer service' call. They only asked for my DOB and 2 letters from my mothers maiden name. They wanted to know if I was OK with my bank, they knew I was using the Online Mobile app and asked if I had any problems using it. They asked and promoted their loans and overdrafts deals and that was it. A very nice chap and told me if I had any further problems to call or visit my local branch.

thinks its barclays, they knew about a recent letter iv had from barclays. Its been asked for DOB and last 2 letters of mums maiden name that's a bit unnerving ...

JUST got a call from them, gave my birth date but when they asked about my mother's maiden name i got suspicious, said i wouldn't give any personal details over the phone. The person assured me it's barclays and not in any way dodgy, said goodbye and hung up. Was pretty polite, but i was still suspicious. It's barclays number checking thing to see if you've ACTUALLY been contacted by barclays. appears this number is legit, still i'm not giving away my details over the phone to anyone, screw that.

I contacted Barclays, after receiving a call, through their web chat and the agent informed me that this is a legitimate Barclays number. I believe that it may be some sort of Barclays marketing department, possibly one that is outsourced.

Regardless I would not give out any details. Better to ask what they are calling for and then ring the regular customer service number to follow up.

Just had a call from this number, claimed to be Barclays (who I do bank with) and wanted to discuss my account.
Then the lady (broad Northern accent) asked for my DOB to confirm who I was. Fishing expedition.

Just phoned from this number and er claimed to be Barclays, possibly is but i'm not giving personal details to anyone over the phone who I didn't contact first.

So i just checked with Barclays and the personal banker there said that I hadn't been contacted by Barclays and should not disclose information without checking validity with Barclays first.

They might well say that.  It was in the News a few days ago that Barclays had admitted that they had been hacked a while ago and customers' personal information had been stolen.  They just did not bother to tell anyone at time time!  I a suppose it depends how long you have been a Barclays customer as to whether your information has been compromised.

Just got a call from these people but missed it. Seen the comments that it's Barclays, went on Barclays website which gives a list of all their numbers. Surprise Surprise this is not one of them. Ignore it

Received a missed call from these number. Called back and asked where it was from. Poorly English speaking... Barclay bank will never call to ask any personal information unless you need to call them.. These number is a scammer...

Just phoned Barclays Customer Care after the second call from this number. They don't phone customers and ask for details (which is what I thought in the first place) so it's definitely not real. They are trying to get your information to access your account. In fact they ask for your date of birth and mothers maiden name, calling Customer Care those were the two pieces of information asked to confirm who I was before I got through to a person so that sums it up really.
