- Sunny Suffolk replies to JohnG| 1 replyAny positive comments regarding this number are scammers.
Did you know that 68% of banking fraud is done via Barclays Bank?
All the other main banks have better ways of controlling or spotting
fraud within their banks.
Scammers can "hide" behind real telephone numbers.
We have even been called from Asia and the number comes up as
a local call! - Canard replies to Sunny SuffolkRead Luke's post (about five before yours). Then check this number with Barclays. It IS Barclays. If you don't want this number to call you, contact Barclays and they will remove you from the list.
- LucyKeep trying my mobile, lunch times and again this evening - I have not picked up as I'm thinking a message would be left if it were important, but message never left. I gather from other posts it is 'possibly' Barclays but may be dodgy.
- Get that fool out of number 10The SCAMMERS clue is the 3rd number 0 - AFTER 0800: (0-8-0-0-*0)
0800 numbers are free lines, they've picked this number 0800*0 to fool us all. If you ring them back you will be charged £5-00 to £10-00 for an premium number rate on you're bill, They don't answer or speak (see other posts) because all they want is you're money and what can they say? Blame the useless OFTEL GOV. UK quango organisation for not blocking them.- Caller: not known

- We bite backSet your answer phone to switch on as soon as the phone rings, if you are ever going to get a genuine call, they will leave you a message. Otherwise google the number if you wish. Never call them back. All of these calls i can do without. These callers have to pay charges the answer phone works a treat. We disconnect the phone at night. Now we have a laugh.

- Rich replies to SteveThey called me to and told me they wanted to make sure I was getting the best service from them going through my over draft limits and stuff which I all ready knew! What they really wanted to know was, the cash in my account was it mine and would it be sitting there for a while. Thinking that was a strange question I hung up. 5 days later £ 2000 pounds went out of my account. Turned out after investigating. The caller was Barclays acting on behalf of the government rates office snooping to see if they could pinch the money from my account even though I had contested the amount they were charging as the house was lying empty for years. I was horrified they could just reach in and take it conspiring with barclays. When i contested they told me "well it's done now if u want it back you'll have to take us to court now" costing me. It is not a capitalist free or anything else state,we think! we live in. It's a fascist state
- Lou123Got a call from Barclays today asking for my husband, but despite our accounts being joint accounts and joint mortgage refused to talk to me, and made it sound like something was seriously wrong. I asked them if it was fraud, and they said no, but they couldn't talk to me about it, they also insisted they were not trying to sell any services etc, which by the looks of the reports on here was not true.
I know our accounts are all fine, as I logged on today to check, but they need to be better on the phone, as this kind of call could really worry someone. - Wendykeeps calling.... stop,I don't recognize this number!
- ParksieIt is Barclays as validated by their own website.
Some proper fantasists on this site!!- Caller: Barclays
