Same number, hung up when I answered. If it is Barclays, they obviously havn't fixed it yet.

was called yesterday from this number and caller said it was a courtesy call from Barclays and asked if I was happy with my account. I said yes and they then wanted my DOB which I gave. Then they asked for the last 3 letters of my Mothers Maiden name at which stage my husband yelled at me and told me it was a possible scam. I said I would not tell them any more info on the phone....I won't make that mistake again.

received a call this morning from this number.  person said they were from barclays bank and wanted to discuss some changes to accounts.  said nothing.  called 1471 to get number that called and message says, "we have called from barclays bank to discuss your account.  there is nothing wrong so do not worry".

this is now the third call from this number and, as i recall, it was from abbey the last time.

recv'd call today at 14:56. They hung up after i answered. How rude.

Had a call 2 days ago when I was out, no message on answer machine. Called again today, claimed to be from Barclay's and wanted to get feed back about staff I met at the Bank but before that he wanted to know my DOB which I refused to give, then he started reeling out information about the new account that I had opened and offered to tell me my sorte code and account number if I could confirm for him, I declined again and signed off. Made a call to the Customer relations at Barclay's, told the story and asked them to remove my name from their telephone contacts and marketing. If the call was genuine that should kill it. Fingers crossed.

Had 3 calls from them today and 7 in the last 10 days.. Every time they rung up and i answered they hungup, HOW RUDE is that. One of todays calls they wanted to know my DOB, I told them 01-01-1901 and then they hung up.

After todays calls i rang up Barclays and complained to one of their customer services managers about it. They have escalated this to the Complaints Dept in London..

Had a few of these calls today so googled the number and got led to this. Very surprised with the amount of harassment this company causes that they have not got into trouble for behaving like this, and especially if this is Barclay's they know its them and should STOP!  They hang up each time I answer so have given up answering the phone but why should we have to put up with our privacy being invaded!!

I've had missed calls from this number over the past week, today I was at home when they called, they introduced themselves as Barclays and asked to take me through some security questions, I refused saying I had no idea who they were and as they called me shouldn’t I be confirming who they were, the operator said she could talk to me about my account unless I confirmed who I was and answered the security questions, I replied fine, I hadn’t called them.

Very irritating, I'm registered on TPS and have asked Barclays to take me off their sales call list, obviously doesn’t work.

"It is Barclays, call them back and you get a recorded message" - says who...?

As I pointed out to the person that called me - any idiot can set up an answer machine.  One time they tried to convince that dialing 1471 would tell me it was Barclays.  So I decide to waste a few minutes of their time explaining how telephone systems work....

Still get occasional calls though.  Maybe I should move accounts, but in these troubled times it's not so clear where I should go.

I've had a number of missed calls from this number over the past week, today I was at home and answered only to find they hung up when I answered. I called the number and it is Barclays, I had told Barclays last year I didn’t want any marketing calls after problems nuisance calls back then, Very Annoying.

It was a happy day in our house when we got a phone with which you can opt to block certain numbers! Just added 08000 852652 to the list after getting a missed call & stoping by here. We really shouldn't have to resort to using facilities like that though. These companies shouldn't be allowed to intrude into our homes like they do.

Just received a call from this number, offering to perform an account review and update. Told them I wasn't interested. If it is a genuine Barclays number, then it would be the first time they've cold-called in 20 years, and I'd be bloody disappointed in them.

I've had repeated calls from these [***] over the last year. They usually pretend to be "Barclays Security Officers" wanting to "protect my account" so cd they just check my details. Often sounds like they're calling from the kitchen with the radio on Seems to be a couple - Northern bloke who sounds like the baddie in the Nationwide ad + thicko woman. I got ripped off by a dodgy dealer on Amazon ("Samistore") a while back & guess this is how they've got some of my details.

Just got called by these people.. never pick it up anyway, i just looked at the caller I.D, quickly tapped it into google and got here! Smells dodgy - and they are still about!

The same number called twice today, and has been calling with increasing frequency in the past few weeks. It would seem that someone has not learned from the so-called credit crunch. Recently when I walked into a branch of the same bank I was offered a re-mortgage on my house, not that I need or want one. These people are both desperate and desperately stupid.
