- Bea replies to James LI have just realised some money £ 39.95 and 89.95 has been taken out of my account, I contacted my bank about this and was advised to call the phone numbers. No one there to answer the phone cos is a sunday. Reading peoples stories on this site tells me my details must have been pased on to classic living and pound saver without my consent. I can assure you that you must have got it wrong as I am not one who signs up for rubbish. whatever it takes I can tell you that I will get my money back and still take you court. Be warned.
- Wee6boys| 1 replyHi,
just like everyone else here I also lost money in this scheme.
HOWEVER!!
I contacted my bank's fraud department. they supplied a contact phone number.
I then spent the next four days tracing back all tv shopping channels I had used.
pitch tv/ pitchworld./ and learned all I could about the discount package they said I had agreed to.
after many many calls to Ireland.PITCH TV customer service.
I finally got through to someone, I asked them to confirm any password associated to my account. There was none. I had been fraudulently opted in to the discounted scheme by a dishonest company who were subsiduariers of what had been pitch world, then pitchland, now Currently Pitch TV. ( the same company different names reopening following being declared bankrupt)
The customer service rep informed me that they no longer fed down customers to that particular company.
They still use the discount votcher sheme and they still run it as an opt out clause. but if it was done correctly there will be a password recorded with the account. They will also be able to inform you of what you had purchased where from. ( WHICH PITCH TV NAME THEY WERE USING AT THAT TIME)
and when you purchased.
I told them about this web page and the many many people who had been stolen from.
and that I was sure that the newspapers and trading standards would be keenly interested. .
I HAD PERSEVERE AND DEMAND REPAYMENT
THE COMPANY RETURNED EVERY PENNY THEY HAD TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT SINCE 2008
DO NOT GIVE UP! . - MarieI;m horrified that comments go back as far as 2009 and yet this company is still getting away with it. My husband ordered something from Pitch TV (Thane Direct), he specified that he was not interested inh other offers and thought that was that. We DID receive some info from Pound Saver but assumed it was junk mail as we hadnt asked for it so never gave it a second glance. Today he went to buy his sons school shoes to find that £89.95 was missing. He phoned the bank, who have "raised a incident" but it doesnt appear they can get our money back. He also cancelled his card, at a cost. Someone tell me that even if you agree to your information being passed on to 3rd parties, this should NOT include card details, only name, address, phone number. Is this right? Thing is, even if we can contact Pound Saver, we would have to give card details to be credited back, and that seems too risky. Can anyone advise me on what to do, please?.

- My Fathers Daughter replies to steve| 1 replyIt is a scam - if what you say is correct how can they justify giving two accounts to an elderly man? These companies should be shut down. How the agents can sleep at night is beyond me. The company concerned has previously traded under another name WHY????
- jeanieI have just spoken with fraud dept of c.c.company and they only offer to close account. Doesnt look like i;ll get my £1.60 (classic living) 2 months ago and £89.95 2 days ago.
I ordered a Steam cleaner from THANE DIRECT and was offered these discount voucher but declined; when I recieved a brocher and one months free trial I phoned 0800 096 2926 (customer services classic living) and insisted they remove all my personal details from their register cancel anything they thought I had signed up for and repay the £1.60 to my C.C.. As you can see they have now gone and taken another chunk so I shall be calling them now and??????? - mervyn parkerOn checking my bank statements there was a debit taken from my account for £1.60 and £99.95 this was not spent by me and not known how they got my deails, will report them to my bank today after reading about them on the internet this is a major scam let every one know this

- Dave replies to Zarawe too have had money taken. We spoke to the bank to report it as fraud and they have been absolutely useless. But that's BARCLAYS BANK. They told us the card used to take this payment is and old card that was cancelled 18 months ago after it had again ALSO been scammed. If fact not only had it been cancelled but it has also expired. We shall both pop in branch tomorrow so they can see us laugh at them as they try to explain this one.
I have also wrote to report this to the BBC's Watchdog http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory/# has anyone else tried this? I no it has been reported by Zara ages ago too, so if you read this Zara did you or has anyone else tried and got a response? - PhilI've just had #99 pounds and#1.65 taken from my credit card so having seen this site regarding the 08001077333 No. Pound Saver so will be on to my Bank post haste to see if this can be refunded as I have never had vouchers or any other contact from them. you are right it is a scam and companies who pass on details should be made responsible for their actions.
- francoI have also been conned by this people whoever they are, the are connected with pitchworld television, one of those adverts for pro painting pad hosted by a famous d i y tv star.

- DaveWe got our money back!!!
We went into Barclays this morning and made them ring Pound Saver because the card they had taken our money from was EXPIRED. Ring membership services 0800 107 7333 and tell them to refund the money as you have never opted into any agreement or received anything from them and that any money taken have been done so Fraudulently. If you are a Barclays customer then i strongly advise a visit to your branch to discuss this as they can continue to take money even if you had previously stopped your card or it has expired. Good luck and let me know your feedback - KBought a steamer from thane direct and a month later I have had £89.95 taken from my account. I have never heard of 'pound saver' and have most definately not given them my credit card details. It's a disgrace that they keep on taking money from people without permission. Even after all these comments, still nothing is being done about them. I phoned pound saver and they have said they will refund the money within 14 days. I will never ever buy from shopping channels again.
- Jonathan Holan| 1 replyI have just had Poundsaver take £99.99 from my account. After calling the bank it seems they did this a year ago as well and I didnt even notice. The fraud dept at Barclays say they cant do anything other than request the money back as the company have my card details.
I did nut give them my card details or permission. They had my details from PITCH TV after my purchase of an EZ bed.
This is shocking. Its a SCAM. I dint ask or want this and yet they can take money from my bank???- Caller: Poundsaver
- Jim replies to Jonathan HolanI too have just discovered £99.99 fraudulently taken from my account. I telephoned Lloyds TSB who have cancelled my card and referred me to their Fraud department.

- catherine e campbellI have just received my credit card statement. On the 11th August, I had £1,60 and £99.95 drawn from my account. I phoned this number 0800-107-7333 GBR and was told I must have made a transaction with a firm called Pitchworld, this firm I have NEVER heard of, and that I had been asked to join and I apparently had said yes. I would just like to say I DID NOT JOIN ANYTHING FOR THAT PRICE, how dare they. They have however agreed to credit my card with the paid money. What do they think they are doing, and how do they think they can get away with this.I would just like to ask people to double ckeck their credit card statement carefully, as they may do it to someone else, and as I am a pensioner, I just couldn't afford to loose this kind of money'.No one called me this just came out of the blue.
- jean jordan| 1 replyI enquired about this company on line and now I have had a membership taken out of my bank account and cannot get in touch with them

- My fathers daughter replies to My Fathers DaughterUpdate - I contacted pitch.tv customer services to try to cancel "the free trial" only to be told that they have no association with POUNDLAND or CLASSIC LIVING who had both taken £1.60 out of my fathers account. The woman on customer service was a disgrace and a cheeky [***], offered no assistance just told me that an old man should't have access to a card. Wonder why he was so lucky that he was added to 2 free memberships.
This week his bank fraud department contacted him as he had 2 £85.95 taken from his account. Don't buy from this company or any associated companies....as they say buyer beware - My fathers daughter replies to jean jordanContact your bank and ask for an investigation to be taken out.
- CaraMy retired father-in-law is currently down his bank trying to sort out his credit card. He hasn't had the card for months, handed it into our branch to be destroyed. Now we find that Pound Saver has taken 2 payments one for £1.60 and another for £99.95 within a week of each other. What sort of people rip of a pensioner?! He bought something from one of these channels 3 or 4 years ago and nothing else has been taken so I don't believe their story that we signed up for these things.
What can we do? Are there any people we can contact apart from the bank about it. I called the number on his statement and the people I spoke to were nothing if not down right rude, aggressive and completely uninterested in the fact they are scamming a frail old man. It is disgusting, I don't know how they can look at themselves in the mirror. Society used to respect and look after the elderly not circle round like vultures picking of bits of meat. I am so angry and don't know how to fix this.- Caller: PoundSaver 0800 107 7333
