I've read a few complaints regarding this scam and apparently it's linked to when you bought items on shopping channels. I rang the old no and it was a dead line. Have you spoken to someone on the no you have rung. I've read that when you complain to your bank your name is linked to the transaction and there's nothing you can do to get your money back. Apparently others appalled by this scam say you've appenently agreed to some vouchers to be sent to your address and it looks like junk mail and you have to opt out in order for the money not to be taken out of your bank/credit card. Would just like to draw your attention to this company especially if you've ever bought anything from a TV shopping channel.
When you'd have bought something, they'd have asked if you wanted to receive a free information pack for vouchers to save money on your grocery shopping etc. You'd then have X amount of days to cancel this but it turns out they hadn't been cancelling and taking money out of people's accounts - 2 payments of £1.60 and £99.95 (this has gone up each year).
One company had given details to Poundsaver to take money out accounts without permission.
Now my mum had received the info pack and did phone up to cancel but going through her bank statements she found she's been getting charged for the last 3 years.
Initially she went to the bank thinking someone had cloned her card and the bank refunded her but will be taking this money out again because it is in her name etc.
If you have found out this company has been taking money out your account, you need to phone the freephone number 08001077333 and tell them you want a refund. Unbelieveably they'll still ask if you want these vouchers and end up charging you over £100 for this pleasure so just be firm and tell them you're not interested.

Mum had cancelled her card and informed the fraud department at the bank so they're trying to figure out what to do at the moment.

It's unfortunate this guy has the poundsaver domain poundsaver.co.uk: pound saver which has nothing to do with it
Will reply when the money is repaid. The last entry on whocallsme looks promising though as says took 2 days. I'd read it all and told mum about them being really rude to some people when they called to prepare her but luckily she got someone nice.
A good lesson to check your bank statements thoroughly. Mum's expecting almost £300 to be repaid!

Bank put me through to this telephone number.
I told them they had taken 2 payments and l would like to know what it was for.
The guy told me i had purchased it when buying something else - it was vouchers.
I asked him what company l had been buying from when this was offered.
He told me I had purchased from Ted Baker and accepted the offer then.
I pointed out l had not been offered or accepted this vouchers scheme and that I had never purchased anything from Ted Baker online or off. He offered to refund the money which would take 10-15 days.
I have again spoken to the credit card company and given them all the details as l have NEVER purchased anything from Ted Baker. Hopefully the money will be refunded or l will be back on to the credit card company for them to chase it.- Caller: Classic living

I managed to get through to pound savers customer service and they said that they would refund the money and cancel my membership. I said what membership? I only ordered some tanning wipes. I never agreed to anything it received anything from them. Guess what.... The money hasn't been refunded.

I have now been in touch with them through customer services and they told me that they would cancel my membership. I said what membership? They said they would refund the money. Guess what? They haven't.

do NOT be fooled by his words... having "co.uk" on the statement is not necessary as that merely is for the website and not always part of the company name (unless they are only internet based - i.e lastminute.com, paypal.com etc
unfortunately, there is no contact details on that page, but obviously they are available somewhere, hence him being irate about people that have contacted him. Whether he had a business partner and split with him, or has a competitor I don't know, but they seem to be diverting people to a different company named L-ev8. - DON replies to DONjust to clarify, what I meant was, I am unsure whether this person has been contacted on this same number or a different number. But if it is the same number we have had missed calls from, then surely it cannot be somebody else?!
