- Jayne replies to Wrecking BallIm sure you mean well, but we the people never spoke to them we never had anything mentioning vouchers, no offers what so ever. So Im sorry but that is a scam and fraud. From further looking we found more £1.60s and £39.50. Youve obviously not been targeted. If poundsaver are not to blame then they need to be proactive and check their database is being used properly. Maybe theyve been scammed! Never heard of Pitchwell either
- Jill Allbutt replies to jI have had money taken out of my account too without giving them the authority to do so! This occured after I purchased some magic pens for my daughter for £10.00 on line. The company is poundsaver call them and get your money back. I have had one lot back and waiting for 2 other sums!!!
- vicJust been checking my bank account and have found that pound saver has taken £89.95 out of my account without my permission. I have spoken to barclays fraud and they told me to phone 0800 107 7333 to ask why the money was taken and could it be refunded if it was an error.
I also had dealings with Pitch TV and their free offers.
The phone number relates to Direct Marketers - vicHi
Just got back from my bank, who were very helpfull.
Apparently unknown to me, when I recently bought a bed from Pitch TV I some how signed up for a discount scheme which had to be cancelled within 30 days or it would be charged to me. As I knew nothing of this the money was taken.
My bank spoke to Discount Club 08001077333 and explained that I had no idea I had signed up for their discount club, and they agreed to refund the money and cancel the membership.
I think because the bank spoke to them it made more of an impact and made it easier to get the money back.
I will let you know when /if I get my money back
I RECOMEND YOU GO VIA YOUR BANK WITH THIS COMPANY TO GET A REFUND - moby replies to Nikki| 1 replyAhhhh, that fits.........you cant even spell!! Il bet your in a bangor based call centre??? you know fine well its a scam!!
- Andy Findlay replies to Abdel Tihad| 3 repliesI got too bought a eco Steamer from Pitch TV. I did not ask for any further promotional stuff just the eco Steamer. This week they took £89.95 from my card. I think Pitch TV may have broken the Data Protection Act as well as aiding fraud.
- steve replies to Andy Findlay| 2 repliesThey also took £89.95 out of my account in feb. I reported this as fraud to my bank i also reported this to consumer information, tel 08454040506, i also reported this to the information comissioner 03031231113 i also reported to officer of fair traiding 08457224499, i also reported pitch world for passing my private details on to BBC watch dog. On the 13 may poundsaver refunded my total money, i suggest you do the same and every body else that has been defrauded by this company to do the same!!!
- WrexThey have now changed their phone number to 0800 183 0059
- James L| 17 repliesIs this still going on?
I have covered everything in a previous post, but it sounds like some of you need to hear it again.
I work for poundsaver at the Bangor N.ireland base.
Our club is offered through television shopping channels, as a cross-sale, and if it is concented to, a 30 day trial-membership is given. If the membership isn't cancelled within 30 days of acceptance, You become a full member, and the charge is applicable. (Be this £99.95, £89.95, £59.95 or £39.95). This would of been fully explained at the first point of contact and you have to concent for this to be set up.
We get details passed to us by shopping channels that take your card/address details over the phone, there is no other way we could get them.
If you are saying you did not concent to this, you are saying the company you spoke to at the first point of contact has broken the law with direct fraud (you are charged £1.60 to have the pack postage charge covered) and a breach of the data protection act also (your details are passed to us on acceptance). That is a serious accusation.
Understand, we recieve hundreds of applications a day. How are we to know that a cross-sales agent has signed you up without concent? we write these companys a script they have to adhere to, and if they do not, they are breaking the law. If you believe this has happened to you, contact the company directly and work out a resolution, or contact trading standards. The last thing we want are people calling through without ever giving concent.
I hope this helps.
James. - EVE| 4 repliesI telephoned Pitchwell (27th May 10) selling Paint Pad Pro's, i was told i was getting a free gift for ordering.
Then i find out it had a catch, i then telephoned yesterday afternoon to cancell this so called free gift. was given number 0800 107 7333 to phone. Was told couldn't cancell as not on system yet, but have 30 days to do so. This morning telephoned again 08001077333 to cancell and then the bomb shell was dropped. My BANK details were given to a them without my agreement. I telephoned Pitwell and they said I did give permission, (WHICH I WOULD NEVER ALLOW) but they would listen to telephone conversation that took place yesterday. I would NEVER give my bank details to be handed out to another company. Telephoned my Bank they have cancelled my card and NO monies will be taken out. Awaiting call back from Pitchwell. BE CAREFULL WHO YOU BUY FROM.- Caller: pitwell
- Melv replies to James L| 5 repliesI just become a victim of your company...I bought a product from BNL Media not Pound Saver! Obviously these companies are the same or linked in some way.
I have now cancelled my credit card, which is a hinderance to me.
I know everyone needs a job but I would not work for your company! - Brice| 1 replyAfter checking my bank account I noticed that £89.95 had been taken out of my account as well as previous charges over the last few years from Poundsaver. WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I got in contact with the company over the phone and was told that if I wanted a refund I would have to pay a cancelation fee of £135!!!!
I then realised that this company was based in Bangor and I was happy to pay them a personal visit as I only live a couple of miles up the road. I had a heated arguement with kid who appeared to be the manager with tatoos and teeth the size of his biceps (both features were huge), he went absolutly buck daft and I was then chased up the road back to my car were he threw a bin into the passanger side door. I have never been more terrified in my life.
I have been losing sleep over this ordeal and am going to be taking matters futher with a few close friends of mine.- Caller: Unknown
- keith replies to jthis belongs to pound saver, they have taken money out of my account with out permission and if you do not stop it with your bank they carry on with it i,v notified the fraud peolpe of my bank suggest you do the same
- Dr Wendy Wilcox| 1 replyI had £99.89 taken from my account today.
I phoned the number 08001077333, I spoke to a very charming girl, who told me that I had purchased goods from a shopping channel, and my details had been passed to them with my permission.
I told her I would never never allow my details to be handed out to anyone.
The person asked for my details, and then told me that the money would be refunded, and should be back on my card within five days, and my registration will be cancelled.
I shall check in about 5-6 days to make sure that the monies have been returned, and shall inform this page the result, hopefully all will be ok, if so everyone on here can do the same thing.
Wendy Wilcox - JoI have also had money taken from my credit card, the same £1.60 and also £89.95. My husband bought something from a teleshopping channel early one morning whilst feed our baby! I've called them and am waiting for a call back from "Carol"???? My bank has said that I need to contact the company first and if I have no luck, to write to them to dispute the amounts taken, then they should refund me. What a palarva. It annoys the hell out of me, why should I have to run around to try and get money back from a dodgy company that I've never even heard of, maybe it's because I have nothing better to be getting on with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- kay replies to Lyni too was sucked in but i did call pound saver on 080010773333and spoke to a girl called cloe who cancelled my so called membership (something i supposedly agreed with bnl media). she informed me their company were looking into the situation because they had acted in good faith from information they had recieved from bnl. i have been told i will get a full refund in 5 to 7 working days. they also were able to cancel the so called membership for classic living as well
- amy59| 1 replyi would just like to say that i am a running member of poundsaver, and very happy with the service i recieve from them and the benifits i gain from being a member, the club was offered to me while i was shopping with pitch tv on a 30 day trail basis. it was explained that it cost 1.60 to have the pack sent, i could use the pack for free for 30 days and if i wanted could cancel in that period if i did not want to become a member, if i did not cancel i would be charged the annual fee of 89.95. i then recieved the pack, which was very obvious when it came in the post as it was a large a4 envelope with poundsaver written on the side. and it included a letter which again explained the terms and conditions to me. i always find the cust service dept of poundsaver very helpful. so i suggest if you are having problems to ring them on 08001077333, i have always found them happy to help and polite.i also suggest in future you listen to what you are being offered on this tv shopping calls , i think it may be some peoples negligence as to why they have ended up with this! it was clearly offered to me, and im a lady of 59 so if i can understand any one can!

- James L replies to Melv| 4 repliesTo be honest Melv, you have become a victim of the sales agent you spoke to at BNL. As I have explained, the first point of contact, be it BNL, pitch TV... whoever it may be, they are the people that sign you up to this, and can only do so legally by giving you full information and getting your verbal concent over the phone. Disregard of this is deemed direct fraud and a breach of the data protection act, and as i have told people before, if you feel this is the case, contact trading standards.
- andy_OO replies to BriceWhat is wrong with these people Brice?
I can't believe this happened to you in your own town!!!!
GET THE POLICE INVOLVED - Doug RI also bought goods from Pitch TV who without authorisation passed my credit card details to poundsaver which resulted in £89.95 being taken from my account. I complained to Pitch tv who said they were looking into the matter as they take data protection very seriously. NOT.
I called poundsaver who were extremely helpful explained that I had not authorised pitch tv to pass my details on and duly received a credit for the amount taken within a few days.
I am writing letters of complaint to the various authorities, credit card etc because as far as I am concerned pitch tv blatently abuse the data protection act and STOLE money from me without consent.
