My mum has also had money taken from her bank account - £59.95.  When I called on her behalf today I was told it was a membership subscription - which she has NEVER taken out.  Anyway, I spoke to Julie McCall who was extremely helpful and said the money would be refunded to her account within 7-10 days.  Let's see ......

James My husband bought a Bricky Mate of a TV channel. The woman on the other end of the phone gave my husband a long speal to which he kept saying no he didn't want anything that was being offered, all he wanted was his Bricky Mate. Well he got his Bricky Mate pluss a charge or £99.95 from his account to which he did not give his consent to .

You say this not a scam then maybe your the company who you work for, should be more choosy about who they do business with because surly you don't wanted to be connected to a business that gives you a bad name. And then maybe just maybe people will stop being charged for something they have not consented to.

We have phoned the number provided and are now in the process of getting our money back.

To any of you that has had money taken out of your account by Pound Saver  call this number 0800 107 7333
Explain what has happened.  you should get your money refunded. And they will also cancel your so called account.

I will let you know how we get on..........

I have just received my bank statement and they tell me that their fraud squad
are pursuing this bunch of cowboys, but they did advise me to make any future transactions with a credit card which is covered by their guarantee.
So many people have been conned by these charlatans, but they have never explained what the 89.95 purchase was for.

Also avoid another company called 'RedSave' which is operating along similar lines.........'.Caveat emptor'

Apparently it is supposed to be a membership fee.

This is just all a scam it is happening to too much people now you should all be locked up for it

Things should be done about it. Everyone that works in Poundsave are in on it, so they should all be locked up for it, and the company should have to pay all the money back to everyone they have taken money off, even the people that have not yet noticed (they are all scum).

I noticed a payment out of my account and didn't recognise the name Pound Saver so I searched the internet and was alarmed when I read about the supposed scam.  In a panic I rang my card provider and cancelled my card so no future payments could be taken.  Later I rang the number which had appeared on my statement with the transaction and spoke to a very nice guy called Mark who advised me the system was down, but to ring back on Monday.  I did this, and spoke to a charming girl called Carly. I explained that I had shopped with a shopping channel and they had said they would send me out a pack.  This didn't arrive and I forgot all about it.  Pound Saver assumed I had received same and was happy to proceed, so took the fee.  I told Carly I did not want to joint the scheme, and wanted a refund.  She assured me it would appear in my account within 5-7 working days.  It appeared in 5. I had no problems dealing with this company, and they dealt with my query professionally and speedily.  I would urge anyone who has had this happen to contact the company directly - worked very well for me.

I ordered a set of discs from Zestify and a few days later got a phone call from Poundsaver offering to send me a book of coupons. I received the book and decided to do some searching on the internet. I am alarmed by the fact that the company is supposed to be a scam so I rang the company immediately cancelling everything. I was given reassurance that nothing would be taken from my account so I will keep everyone posted.

In my case it was not a phone call.   They charged my bak account with a fee of £99.95 and an admin fee of £1.60.   My bank was able to give me the number 0800 107 7333 and when I contacted them they agreed to cancel the large fee.   No explanation of how they got into my bank account.   Any information you can give will be helpful.

Ordered goods from pitchwell back in july ,ithen found an amount of £ 99.99
charged to my bank account. On investigation i discovered the charge came
from pound savers on the instructions of pitchwell. On ringing p/well all i got was
waffle from a very well trained waffler .The product i purchased from them
was promoted on TV by none other than Tommy Walsh ,I therefore ask is he aware
of the number of complaints directed at this company and the monies taken
from bank accounts without peoples permission.I would be very keen to here
his opinion on Pitchwells business methods

i was one of the reps for £saver and I know that most of the reps do explain everything correctly AND you WILL have been told about the years membership cost as it is on our script which means basically we have to read it out.  we also have to say about the 1.60.
i think that it would be that most people just dont listen - i found that i had to repeat myself all the time because people werent payin attention.
I had something similar happen to me around christmas when i bought something (it wasnt £saver tho) but i accepted the fact that i just didn't listen.
Also when some people say to me that they were charged for it before i ask did they receive the pack and they say that they did but dumped it thinking it was junk mail.  that comes under my point of just not listening as the reps do say to watch for the pack and as someone said before... you CANT miss it.

I cancelled my 30 day free subscription last year with Poundsaver on 7/8/09 and without any authorization they "stole" from my bank account 0n 2/08/10 £99.95 and £1.60 totalling £101.55.

No company can take money from your account without first obtaining your permission when it comes to so called annual subscription renewal when paying by debit or credit card. The only way to really stop them is to cancel the current card you have and get a new card and new pin, or better still get another bank account. Poundsaver are supposed to adhere to the FSA rules on banking conduct. They clearly have breached the rules by being this decitful. Report them to the FSA regardless of wether they do refund your money

All i can suggest is that u call the freephone no. again and explain to them as they are very helpful.
In relation to the comment posted by "Connie", i have had to know the FSA regulations for many of my jobs and I KNOW that most of the agents would NOT knowingly breach FSA regulations.
Everything that has to be said, is said, all of the costs have to be mentioned, as I stated before, its all on a script.  Once again, I feel that its a case of you prob not listening and saying yes to everything to get the operator off the phone!

My husband purchased a bricky mate from a TV channel. He DID listen to the blurb and said NO but they took the money any way. So Explain that one please. How can you say people dont listen. If you think people haven't listened to you then you shouldn't be taking their money. Simple
