- Mohammed Neayass replies to j| 1 replyIf you buy from TV shop the charge for the item, then again they will send you some voucher and charge for the voucher. be careful.
Please call the number explain to them they will refund the money back. - JenI ordered from the TV shopping before and I was offered this savings club. The person on the phone explained everything to me and told me if i wasnt interested to call the freephone number. I received everything and made use of what i could but i forgot to cancel before the 30 days were up so the money was taken from my account. I called the freephone number as I was told that i should and found that they were very helpful and i had the money in my account within a few days.
- julie replies to Zara| 1 replyHi, My story is exactly the same as yours, I ring them constantly and keep being fobbed off. I used my credit card (one I keep for over the phone/internet purchases and only has a low credit), unfortunately Barclaycard have been of no help whatsoever. They keep telling me i have to cancel the subscription and i keep telling them that I didnt subscribe in the first place! So yes this is a con and needs to be stopped. Poundsaver have finally agreed to credit my account - lets see. I will leave it for a few more days and if no luck then i will contact Watchdog. Wishing you luck.
- davidjust discovered a £99.99 debit from my credit card paid to pound saver, a transaction i know nothing about. phoned my bank and they advised that in two weeks (a month after the transaction) they will take action to refund my money. in the meantime, i have a meeting with thompsons solicitors on wednesday and will take the opportunity to raise the subject with them. as soon as i recieve their advice i'll pass it on and hopefully put an end to this thieving [***] activities.
- Caller: pound saver
- DAVIDAVOID BUYING FROM TV ADS AS YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS MAY BE SOLD ON TO THIRD PARTIES SUCH AS POUND SAVER....IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED ANYTHING RECENTLY, CANCEL YOUR CARD IMMEDIATELY OR YOU MAY BE DEBITED FOR SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, SUCH AS USELESS DISCOUNT VOUCHERS
- Caller: POUND SAVERS
- Simpless| 1 replyWhat a load of s..t, at the end of most calls concerning poundsaver etc you are asked for a password normally your city or place of birth, why do you think they ask you that? It's called and used as a password to VERIFY that you want the pack and hotel vouchers sent out.
Now back to my point at the end of the call if you didn't listen or didn't hear the operator was asking you for your city or place of birth?
Now if you claim that you were never asked this verification question at the end of the sales pitch you might have a case... They will then listen to the call and realise 99% of the "well educated" comments on here are due to negligence on the customers behalf, but if you call the customer services and state you didn't want to join the club or membership you will get the full refund within 5 -7 days however if the bank contacts them it may take longer due to the banks own processes....... And all this because you really didn't listen? Live and learn!
Oh and as far as the Fsa comment goes I think you need to go read that again so you fully understand what your attempting to say before you embarrass your self.
Having said that if you calling a tv shopping channel to order some of the s..t thats on them I am over estimating you and oh yes I am based in northern Ireland as well there's no language barrier or even accent difference we still understand your ignorance, And incontinence of the mouth.
What use is being well educated without common sense!?
Cheers - Simpless replies to deleted postActually that would be where your wrong your assumptions that i work or have worked for pound saver or for any other company based in a call centre are completely inaccurate and only tells me that you haven't really read what was in front of you,
I really dont care what you think of me to be honest water of a ducks back! It's not my fault our an idiot, anyway the reason I know what I do about this company is because I have researched it for a client, And found the company is working well within the law and any discrepancies with customers are quickly resolved (with the customer), now if the company were ripping people off constantly the company would be prosecuted by trading standards, the fsa,etc but yet the company still exists and is advertised on television.
However if the company as you say were thieving they would have been shut down, given a cease and desist and the companies assets and account frozen until all cases have been resolved. However the company hasn't ever had an investigation to this as all problems are resolved generally though there customer services and you get your refund.
Now the main problem with poundsaver is that It's offered from different companies on behalf of poundsaver now those companies can be the people who cause most if not all the problems as it them who ask for your permission to send the pack out etc it's at this junction that a refusal should have been put forward.
But as I said previously a calm and collected call to poundsaver customer services they will understand and refund you without prejudice. - DisgruntledJust found out my mum and step dad have had the same thing happen to them. Ordered some paint thing from Pitch TV a couple of months ago then £99 taken out their acccount this week by Pound Saver. They never agreed to any vouchers being sent through and certainly did not receive any pack which would have given them the option to cancel something they never asked for! Step dad spoke to Pound Saver who said they would refund but we will wait and see. I also spoke to Pitch TV and have asked them to check back their recordings and prove that he consented to his bank details being passed to a third party - which he would never do! Debit card cancelled, bank fraud line being phoned tomorrow and email already sent to Watchdog. Will update on any progress.
- Noel KIn Aug 2010, I purchased a blow up double bed from 'Pitch Tv'. In less than 21days I noticed an amount of £99.99 had been taken from my account by a firm called Pound Saver (never heard of them).; I contacted my credit card company to see when the £99.99 was for and they referred me to 08001077333,
I rang this number and was greeted by a lovely Irish girl, I explained the position that I did not know anything about Pound Saver and that i wanted my money back, after some discussion she agreed and said the money would be returned to my account within the next 5/10 working days.
We'll have to wait and see. - Disgruntled| 1 replyUpdate as promised. After I spoke to the customer services manager at Pitch TV whose name is David(actually a nice guy), he promised to speak to Pound Saver the next day and get them to refund the money to my step dad's account. He also said he would phone back and let us know how he got on. True to his word he phoned the next morning to say he spoke to Pound Saver and they would be refunding the money. This was on Thursday morning. The money was back in their back account on Tuesday. Still not too happy about the information being passed over to Pound Saver in the first place but give Pitch TV (David in particular) their due, they got the money back. Please do not let them fob you off with stating that you agreed to your information being passed on if you know you didn't, ask them to prove it via the recordings they say they make of all calls. Good luck.
- Alex C replies to chrisAll you have to do is what I just did.
Call your bank and say it was an unauthorised withdrawal of funds, and let them take you through the process of claiming back the funds via the bank.s fraud office.
I hope that helps.
P.S They just stole £95.90 from my account after I made the mistake of buying "6 second abs" from "Zestify" on an early morning tv infomercial.
They charged me £1.85 for vouchers that never arrived and must have shared my card details with the crooks running "Pound Stretcher". - Alex C replies to DisgruntledAre you sure it's "Pound Saver" and not "Pound Stretcher"?
- Alex C replies to julieHi Julie, I suggest you ditch such an irrisponsible bank.
Go with the Co operative bank instead, they have a long history of only making ethical investments, unlike Barclays who supported apartheid throughout it's reign of terror, and they will allow you to register such rip offs as unauthorised withdrawals, which you can claim back via the bank's fraud office.
I hope that helps. - kerry chamberlain| 1 replyI checked my account this morning to find 99.99 has been taken by poundsaver after i purchased from pitch tv,the company did phone and i said No thanks not interested in discounts,i have just rang 08001077333 and have been promised a refund in 5-7 working days, sooo lets see what happens, finger crossed.
- Shazza replies to kerry chamberlainWhen out shopping yesterday I checked my bank details to find that Poundsaver have taken 99.99 from my bank account, went staright into my bank to enquire who Poundsaver were, and that I had not purchased anything from any company called Poundsaver, they informed me that I would have to cancel my card and their fraud department would be looking into it which I have.
I have since found out that my bank details had been passed onto them from Pitch TV who I had purchased some paint pads from. I know for a fact that I never gave my permission for Pitch Tv to give my bank details to anyone else.
It will be the last time I buy anything from Pitch TV.
Now I am waiting for my bank to call me back and hopfully I can have my money bank - MORGANTHEY HAVE JUST TAKEN £99 FROM MY CREDIT CARD
