- Beth replies to Brummagean bird21Money Saving Expert is a forum - it is Barclays that are calling you, but the Money Saving Expert part is nothing to do with them. The people over there on the forums are discussing the fact that they've had the calls from this number, too, just like we have. That's the only reason Money Saving Expert has come up in a google search.
- ValeJust had a fone call from the above number. I'm with o2, but bank with barclays. So i should imagine from the posts above the main thing is Barclays. I didn't answer as phone was on silent.

- LiamJust had a missed call from this 08001218141 number but they didn't leave a message and I think after reading some of the comments on here I won't be ringing them back :)
Strangely enough I Bank with Barclays and I am aslso on Orange for my contract phone too. - Dzem| 1 replyIt has nothing to do with being with Barclays AND Orange. This is simply a Barclays telemarketing call. Full stop. I too have missed a call whilst at work and I'm not with Orange!
If you have a Barclays account, or even used to have an account with them, you would have put in a contact phone number. This would be either your mobile number, or your Ex-Directory land line number. They are using this to contact you to see if you want any of their services.
If you don't, just let them know when you answer the phone. Bitching about it and whining that they wont get the hint by you ignoring the phone wont get you anywhere. It's their job to telemarket, not mind read. You're going to be on a list of people to contact - so if you're getting several calls a day, it could be possible that you're on a few peoples lists? Just answer it and get it over with.
Or, alternately, as suggested by others on this forum, go into your local branch and ask to be opted out from receiving marketing calls, deselect your mobile as a means of contact on the online banking, or even calling 08000831856 and leaving your name and address on the answerphone and they will remove you manually that way.
I hope this helps.- Caller: Barclays
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Pissed Off| 1 replyI've been getting this number call me for weeks now. Told them Not interested and to F**k O**.

- FilippoJust received 2 calls from this number. I'm working so i could't answer.
They called me also last week and they said they were from Barclays and offering me something, I didn't get what but i stopped them. - wendyinnitI've had several calls from this number over the last few weeks, I've never answered as I don't recognise the number. It could be Barclays as I recently got in touch with them and the calls started after that, I will be going onto my branch to ask these calls to stop.
It has happened before about a year ago, I finally answered after half a dozen calls and it was Barclays trying to sell me home insurance! I have to say I was so wound up I was very rude to the guy on the phone, and told him in no un-certain terms that I'd better not get any phone calls from them again, surprise, surprise that worked, until now! - MA replies to some userIt is Barclay's Bank trying to sell financial products. Just ask them to remove your number form their database.
- CharlotteThey called me again today for the 6th time in 2 weeks. Said it was (muffled voice, as if phone cut out) on behalf of Barclays bank. Asked to speak to me by my full name.
I have already ticked the "no marketing calls" box on the website and they still phoned. I told them this and the man at the end of the phone got defensive, asking how long ago I did this and that "it takes quite a long time to filter through".
Hopefully they won't be calling again.- Caller: Someone on behalf of Barclays
- Call type: Telemarketer

- Kevin O'DonnellI keep receiving missed calls from 08001218141? Every time I answer, it just clicks off and no one answers. I have called back the number but I am told it is a high premium number which costs something like £2 per minute. Does anyone actually know who this is please? If so, I would like to know and then I can pass the number on as a nuisance telephone caller. All very odd and does someone have nothing better to do?
- Caller: Unknown but a real nusiance
- AlvinI've had repeated calls from this number but there's never anyone at the other end. I wonder if it's a scam to get me to call back, but can't see how that would work, given that it's a freephone number & therefore wouldn't cost me anything?
- Caller: No idea who it is
- EmmaThe number is Barcleys Bank go in branch and ask them to stop marketing calls
- Emma replies to Pissed OffNo affence but if i was on the other side and you told me to F OFF i'd just not take you off the list just to annoy you even more .. THINK ABOUT IT ... if i have this attitude i'm sure there are other people out there who work in Marketing who would also find it funny
- Raz192Yeah it's deffo barclays- I answered and the guy said his name was Jamie and he's calling 'on behalf of Barclays' ((i.e. possible NOT actually from Barclays?). I asked him to call back in 20 minutes so I could check this, am worried it's debt collection, but it seems as though it's more likely to be marketing bullsh**. Can't wait til he calls back. I think I'll give him random answers like 'purple' to all his questions and then pretend my signal's dying hahaha, tossers.
- Caller: 'Barclays'
- Call type: Telemarketer
