I emailed Barclays complaints (via website) and a lady called today to apologise - she didn't think it was Barclays but said she'd uncheck my telephone numbers from marketing calls.  That was this morning.  This afternoon, guess which number called me...!  I actually answered this time and a lady said she was calling from Barclays re. accident cover.  I stopped her, said I'd spoken to her colleague this morning and explained I didn't want any more marketing calls.  She apologised and said I wouldn't be called again.  Watch this space...

Answered this the 2nd time today and was indeed Barclays.

Nothing more than trying to sell me a bit of insurance but refused it before his sales pitch began.

Was quite polite about it.

I received a call from 0800 121 8141today, 06/7/2011, and was immediately suspicious as, to the best of my knowledge, 0800 numbers are never used to make calls  to private individuals.    I didn't pick it up and no message was left.     I did wonder if it was Barclays but I checked all their numbers and it wasn't there.      This is a great site and thank you for making this facility available.

Sorry Hal, but companies frequently call individuals and it will appear the call comes from an 0800 number.
Bear in mind 0800 numbers are actually a "normal" number with a different identity (there are sites where you can check these), then calling they "send" the 0800 number rather than the actual office number

But as not a native English speaker...the only thing I can get from the call is 'half past three this afternoon'.....
I feel sorry to the call maker....it just wast his 2 minites....

I have had over 40 calls from this number in the past few weeks they are a pain in the butt! Now I know who it is I will be going into my local Barclays and giving them a piece of my mind!

i have today received a call from this number, i didnt answer as my mobile was on silent, only knew about it when i checked phone, how do  these people get these numbers in the first place it is not on, i only give out my number to those who i wish to have it so i am quite angry that these companies can get hold of the number without my permission

i have today received a call from this number on my mobile and it is barclays doing marketing calls, they gave a number to ring in order to cancel them, not wasting time calling them, next time they call ill answer and give them a piece of my mind they have no right to have my mobile number i didnt give it to them i only give out my number to people i want to have it and i certainly dont give it to businesses to call with their marketing

I just got a call from this number yet AGAIN  ! ....  There was just a lot of noise on the other end & then they hung up...guess they were ringing a few numbers at the same time & I wasn't quick enough...I now see it's Barclays.... I have also actually answered quite a few calls from them & am getting quite peeeeed off with it...they keep asking for my son...I guess they wanna get their claws into him as he has just left college...but at mo' penniless..they wouldn't tell me what they wanted but I told them that they had better not be offering him any loans or anything to get him in debt...I also have any account with Barclays so I'm gonna stomp down the road & have 'WORDS' enough is enough..!!!!

yes, its barclays if you call 08000831856 they will remove you from marketing list. Thank god for that, they drive me mad

Answered the call after a million missed calls - some guy coughed down the phone at me and then hungup ..... really appreciated that!

It seems to be Barclays doing some marketing, so I just asked the guy to remove me from the list and he obliged.

ive been bombarded with calls from this number for the last two weeks and now i at least have some sort of idea who it is! i don't understand why they always phone me during the day- im at work and always miss the calls. it means at the end of each day ive got 5missed calls from this number!!
