I was phoned my this number twice in two days,

I also have an account with barclays but my sim is on o2.

Surprisingly I am also with Orange and Barclays!
How irritating!

They say they call on behalf of barclays you need to ask then where are you calling from if not Barclays, this time they said domestic and general who after researching on web appear to sell useless insurance policies on electrical apps etc that dont actually payout when you need them to. With all cold calls its a legal requirement for them to tell you where they got your details from.

The Number is from Barclays. They will only call people who are with Barclays. This is a typical marketing call from a company who wishes to advertise there products. You can opt out of marketing calls by going into your barclays branch and requesting to be removed from the marketing list or by calling: 08000831856 and waiting for the robot man to ask for your Name, Postcode and The number they called you on.

sorry to break the trend! although I am with Barclays I'm on o2 sick of this number ringing me at all hours!
I also don't answer numbers I don't know unless I am expecting a call.

i keep getting calls like this 5-6 times a day. i'm with 02 and i am not with barcleys bank. DO NOT ANSWER THIS NUMBER. i got my phone bill through and it was over £80 connected to this number!!!!

Hi all... I just got a call from that number but didnt answer, I wanted to check what it was 1st cause you never know... Some phones like mine, have a reject list, you can add a number to it and they just can't get through to your phone any more. I've added the number to it... check your manuals if you're using mobiles n see if you have a similar function on your phone :D

I don't answer it, but I am with Barclays so they would have my mobile number. It frustrates me that no message is left.

Al, same here. I'm also not answering. The 1st call was unknown and the 2nd with this Nbr. They called my mobile and home number as well!

How annoying this is!! They dont stop to call my mobile number all day!! I am not answering with the hope that they will give up.

Good advice on here, thanks very much!  I rung the robot man as advised by Richard Sparrow above, and hey presto, I left my details.  Whether Barclays will get the message that I'm more than capable of contacting them if I need insurance for car/home/accident etc or not, remains to be seen.  I hate being cold-called.  I walk out of shops if a shop assistant is too in-your-face, and I look on these intrusive calls the same way.  Thanks again!

have been getting these calls for months!!! when im back in England im going straight to Barclays and getting my name taken off the marketing list. would advise others to do the same, as it doesnt look like they plan on stopping even if you've always ignored the call!

I'm getting at least one call from this number every day for the past week, pretty much the same as everyone else. answer call and no one speaks.  sometimes it takes a coulpe mins for them to hangup, other times it's almost as soon as I say hello.

Same here tis a bloody pain!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!  I have decided to add them to my reject list, on me mobile, in the hope that this will stop thems! *fingers crossed*

I just had a call from this number at 1.02 pm Tues 15/03/ 2011 I didn't answer either but it is strange that our phone is registered to my son who has a Barclay's Bank Account and an Orange Mobile Phone contract !!!!!!!!

Just got a call from 08001218141. said they were sorry, sounded like someone crying. They didn't hang up so eventually I did and checked with this site. Really weird though and unsettling.
