Any idea who these people are?

They are a debt collection agency called " Scot-Call"

automated call for previous occupant, i believe it's a direct marketing company. Name of previous occupant christopher green.

Scotcall - Robot message. Until it is a human message i will not be answering these ridiculous calls. BT offer a choose to refuse service where you can block numbers for £8 per quarter.

Some Scottish woman trying to chase me for an old barred Orange debt. She can whistle.

my 14 year old son keeps getting silent calls from this number, and he only got the phone for christmas.

Just had the call now... couldn't hear it enough so asked them to speak louder, they just rambled on like the afore-mentioned posting by Mr Angry, unless they use a human being I'm not playing ball!

Had two calls from this number, both of which I genuinely missed. Got an automated voicemail. No idea what they want or who they are. If they cant be [***] to get a person to leave me a message, I cant be [***] to talk to them. If its important, they'll ring back, right?

i have just had my phone ring once and someone hang up.i called 1471 and the number left is the one evryone on here is talking about.what i want to know is why they dont speak they hang up so you have to call them back????

Rude bloke called chasing someone-told me he only had my word for the person not being there.Wouldn't tell me who he was but I checked this out and have complained to "Scot Call" who sound a right bunch of gangsters.

Definately scotcall...and definately not for me.  Have had several calls from this number and today I took action.

Called them back and gave them their reference number, refused to give my address as it's none of their business.  She also mentioned a street name, which is miles from me, so all i said was it definately wasn't for me.

Even got an apology and was told my number will come off their list, they better do it!

just had a phone call, asked straight away for details, extremely vague and rude from other end, have no idea what it they were asking for. Apparently itwas a catalogue debt not paid off, I don't even own one or had one. They could'nt even tell me what catalogue it was! Any thoughts who these [***] are?

Had loads of calls form this number, so i called them back and they said they were phoning on behalf of BT and wanted my address and i dint give it to them and the quote a house number and that was total wrong.  Very rude and secretive.  Who are there!!!

been recieving the calls for a while now. it is indeed scot-call however its not marketing calls their a debt collection agency... commonly used by orange...

Yep, Scotcall, who are frequently under discussion by the Consumer Action Group website, who offer much valuable information on how to get rid of Scotcall, and numerous dirty tricks they may try on people.  The debt collection industry forum of that website has stacks of information on them.

Have had numerous calls from scot call, i have just answered one call asking for a women not in this house. they wouldn't believe me and kept asking for my details which i told them was none of their business and to take me off there system, they basically told me without telling them who i am they wouldn't do anything for me. I am now going to look into barring their number.

Had a few calls of these [***] on of all days new years day!
All was left was some robotic voice mumbling something then after that some chap who sounded either Indian or Pakistani shouting hello helloo! then said [***] and hung up!
With an attitude like that im glad i didn't answer the call
They want anybody to ring them back they should leave a nice proper message thats clearly spoken for us to understand and say who there trying to contact
Theres only me and my disabled son live at my house oh and my cats
Neither one of us are in any debt so why start ringing my home number that isn't in the phone book nor is it allowed to be handed out by bt to anybody!
We never give it to anybody ourselves we do not know or trust
If your not getting scammers at your door your getting them on your phones
This has to stop!

I have just had a voice message from them asking me to call. I thought I would google it first to see who they are. I have no idea what they want from me and I aint answering the phone from them. They can jog on.
