debt collector muppets aka fraudsters

Stop making me laugh1  Another one is to ask them to confirm their own name and dob and address calling from and exactly where in the building they are sitting. When they ask why, I say I am calling the local police to arrest you. They always hang up.

it is a debt company called scotcall and they keep phoning and harrassing you until you answer my advice would to change your number or just ignore do not speak to these people they are preying on vunerable people who have debt with the likes of bt or npower general household bills etc they buy them or take them over and threaten to send someone round to your property they are nobodies just ignore and do not let them in your house if they dont leave phone the police and have them removed,

Unsolicited digital calls on several occasions from 0800 158 2808. I believe this is Scotcall. I do not know this Company and I do NOT owe anyone money.
The latest message referred to another person by name, whom I know, but does not reside at my address. So why are they calling me?

You probably have sim card of tah person who owes :P

they seem to be looking for someone that may have had my number before me. When you ring them up they ask for personal details. I refused and the shi* hangs up.

Seem a be a bunch of gangsters trying to screw money out of people.

Received an automated call from 0800 1582808 which was very unclear.  

Reading the previous messages they sound just like an outfit similar Buchanan Clark & Wells debt collectors also based in Glasgow.

I'm getting the same as above - they're looking for the poor couple who had the line before me.  I've had calls from debt collection agencies for two years looking for these people and each company gives up but then sells the debt on and it all starts again.  Today Scotcall called me twice in three hours although I told them the first time it was the wrong number.  Now I've just saved their numbers and chosen the quietest melody so that I won't even hear them ring.  They'll get bored eventually.  I did have words with the guy I spoke to this morning so I guess he's doing it to wind me up.  If he's so annoyed that he's sitting redialing my number, imagine how annoying it will be to keep calling and it rings out!  As we say in Glasgow, "What a tube."

same again, got a call from them, they're trying to find fiona shires, who I'm guessing must have had our phone number before we inherited it. Recorded message very unclear. called back as it was freephone and the guy was actually quite polite and said he'd remove my number from the list. Here's hoping!

had a  missed call from these muppets , called the number back and got hung up on , , they called  again an hour later , told the they had wrong number as I had never heard of person they were looking for the [***] started getting aggressive and asking for my name and address , told him he called me so must know who & where he called , after another few minutes of this going on he gave up , called me a w***ker ,and put phone down , guess I got to him lol , will now be putting a complaint in writing to these [***] and see what they have to say ( not holding my breath though ). if they do call dont give them any detail just tell them where to go

just had a phone call from these idiots on my mobile, thanks to 3 for giving my number out, the male on the other end wasnt impressed that i told him i was not in..lol, and i was to pass on a message....scot call....put it in writting if its important, using thugs to try and scare me is stupid, like most of you i dont have any debts...but i will be printing off the letter some one posted earlier......thank you..

late night phone calls constantly, its about time something was done about these companies but they pay the phone companies for freephone and premium rate numbers so it looks like they'll continue with the harassment

They have been calling my landline and mobile number for the past 2 weeks. I'm not a happy bunny as I don't give my numbers out willy nilly. If any company or organisation want to get in touch with me it's snail mail.

I'm glad I found this item about them as I was tempted to answer just to find out who was calling.

GENUINE treats will stop them, because they are weak, they don't know who we are, and we want to (and can) kill them.

They are fools. They clearly have some [***] alogrithm tech., where they rope in some genuine old debt info, to give credence. Thet are at:

Having said all that, let's not worry too much. Like with what we know Islamist fundamentalist can't do, because they're thick.

just had a phone call from Scotcall done not who they and how they have got my phone number as it is not in the phone book, so i do not know who has give them my number just wish would stop ringing me, as i ahve read some of the complaints about them saying they are dedt collectors

They f**** keeep calling me. I'm only 15 what do they want. They keep saying "is this joan?" im like noo wrong number stop calling this number please and the guy is like "ok" in his scottish accent
and calls back again and again even when i'm in my school lessons like seriously [***] i aint got no money or no [***] for them to steal Jeeeezus for crying out loud.

I've had loads of missed calls from 0800 158 2808 on my phone number that I've had for years, they never leave a voicemail but it turns out that this telephone number belongs to a Scottish debt collection agency called "ScotCall". I do not owe anyone any money so I can only assume they either have the wrong number or are trying to scam me. For some reason they refuse to remove my number from their database so I keep getting calls from them. I find that the number of calls increase when I answer so it's better to not answer at all. My advice would be to ignore their phone calls if you have caller ID/display.


As their number is a freephone number, it's free for you to call from landlines (eg. house phones) but it's not free for them... they pay to receive the call! So, whenever you get the chance (if you are walking past a phonebox, for example), call them on 0800 1582808 and waste their time and money. If everyone who received a nuisance call from them did this, it would cost them a fortune and their staff would be too busy receiving calls to make nuisance calls.... see how they like it!

When their call centre is closed, there's a short recorded message and then you are cut off so it's best to call them when their lines are open and operators are available to answer your call.
