I had a call from these people today, definitely Scotcall. Knew my name and asked me to 'confirm' my address. I asked what it was about and they said it related to a debt on a BT account. I haven't had a BT account in a long time, and have certainly received no bills from them since then. Scottish man was the caller, got very aggressive when I started asking for more information, said he couldn't tell me any more until I confirmed my address. Tried to tell me I had been contacted several times before by them and listed other companies I had supposedly spoken to (never heard of any of them). Threatened me with a visit by a collection officer, and I hung up. I would strongly advise against giving your address to these people, no matter what they threaten you with. They are attempting to scare you into parting with more information by pretending to know who you really are. If they ring me again I'll be changing my number.

As per Grahams message why not call these idiots on the free number and then it costs them money you could even mute your phone mic just to annoy them as they are annoying us. If you get put in a queue everytime then the cost could rack up! Not that any of us would do such a thing!

MANY CALLS AND LETTERS FROM THIS BUNCH, THREATENING HOME VISITS. I HAVE TOLD THEM THERE IS NO ACCESS TO MY HOUSE FROM PUBLIC GROUND AND IF THEY SHOW UP THEY BETTER HAVE A COURT WARRANT OR THEY WILL BE REMOVED FROM MY PROPERTY. INFORMED THE POLICE WHO SAY, IF THEY SHOW UP, CALL US TO REMOVE THEM.
SCOTCALL SENT PAPERS TO ME INCLUDING COURT CHARGES ISSUED THE DAY THEY GOT THE PAPERS (EXPRESS COURT?), TO THE WRONG ADDRESS, FROM A COMPANY I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCOUNT WITH, THROUGH ANOTHER DEBT COLLECTOR, FOR AN ACCOUNT THAT WAS FREE-CARPHONE WAREHOUSE'S ATTEMPT TO KEEP ME AS A CUSTOMER GAVE ME 75 MINUTES AND 75 TEXTS TOTALLY FREE, £300 CREDITED TO MY ACCOUNT AND NOT A PENNY'S WORTH USED AND NOW THEY WANT OVER £70, SWIVEL BABY

rang them to discuss my debt with them, all i got was some rude scotty trying push me into paying more than i could afford.

sick of getting messages off them! i never ever answer!

Harassment by telephone

FORMAL COMPLAINT UNDER THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 2006 COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.

I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)

I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.

I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.

Please treat this also as a formal complaint, and send me a copy of your company complaints procedure.

Cross reference scotcall with resolvecall using 08442578535 same address Spectrum Building  55 Blythswood St Glasgow G2 7AT. Had a call from 08001582808 which was ignored via BT call identifier then found a message from a Pamela quoting the 0844 number and a case number to boot.
My brother in law also been in touch to say he had a call from them,very unintelligble as other people have mentioned,but were asking about my son and an address he left some time ago.  
Have obviousy warned him about the situation but as everybody else says: WHO THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE?

they called me today .said they where scottcall trying to confirm my details , i asked what it was about, they where very vain. asked for my adress so gave them an old adress ,they said it was not what they had ,so asked what they had and they said i had to confirm my addres , so got fed up with them and said i would not confirm any more details , whitch is my right to do so under the data protection act . give them the same back if you do not have letters from them then they are trying to fish for info.

Complete and utter bunch of lying thugs.
Called there phone back number twice. first time told that this compnay wasnt scott call that they had nothing to do with them and they had no idea why such a thing would happen.
Second time i amazingly got through to the right people after saying first off it was regarding paying off a balance.
Ended up taking my number off the system, by a very moody cow.

Several automated calls now looking for someone who does not live here, have tried to reply by email without success. Am mystified how this person's name is connected with my landline!

scott call rang me at 20.02 on the 15/09/2010 i thought call centers are not allowed to call you after 8pm if this is right please let me know

i got a call from them at 22.00 then 22.10 on fri...i just put there call on silence

they have now belled me every 15 min from 22.10...right up till midnight...surely this cant be allowed

they keep calling me ord times, i have told time time out of number that i dislike that but they still call me, i want a stop to that ASAP!!

Looks like may have to make a complaint of harrassement about this company.

I just called them back, told them I had a missed call, and my landline was rencetly installed, and they have removed me as details I had didnt match up.  I didnt give them my full details, I told them my house number (they told me what they was expecting) and town name.

Seems easily sorted for myself.

yep i just rang them back and asked for details on why they were calling, apparently I should know and I needed to confirm my address before any other info would be given. I said I have googled scotcall and heard bad things, at this point the girl hung up. Lol, ignore them what a bunch of *ankers. Will use the letter about harrasment if they keep chasing without telling me what this is about.

hi - have this number ring constantly!! - ive spoken twice to them and explained that i was declared bankrupt in july so any debt i had was cleared!!! However they still continue to call .. i just answer the phone and do not speak i actually now get more pleaseure than agitation that they frustratingly continue to call me and run up their own bills plus waste there time!!!! lololololololol

apparently i know who these people are but have never heard of them until they started to call my home number
they wont give any info they just keep asking for my details and i say if your calling me you must already have them.
now i just let it ring to my answer machine and delete there messages

I called them back and they asked me to confirm my address. I just asked them to state the address and then i could confirm it or not, they said "we can't do that" then i asked what it was about, they needed me to confirm my address, so i asked what they had so i could confirm it.... they said..... Kept that going for 10 minutes.
