This number keeps ringing me over and over again at different times of the day.  I've never answered.  I've tried to call back but it's not free from a mobile.  How they have my mobile I do not know.

calling me every two days. very annoying... who is it??

I have been receiving calls from this number for a while now. Same situation as most of you. I have just googled 'The Listening Company' and called them to see why I was receiving these calls and why no one was speaking when I answered. The man I spoke to was very helpful and removed my details from the database as I was on the phone. They are a marketing company that act on behalf of a variety of companies - hence the numerous different company names quoted.

Their number is 0208 484 1000.

They may be a legitimate marketing company, however their methods leave a lot to be desired. I'm not sure if it is strictly speaking 'cold calling' as they may well be calling on behalf of a company that I have had dealings with. However, calling two times a day and never even talking when the phone is answered is not acceptable. I'm guessing they're being paid by the number of attempted calls?
My number has been registered on the Telephone Preference list for several years, but apparently this doesn't count if it's an overseas call centre...
Anyway, I have made the call to the number given on the first post to remove my number, we'll see if this has worked.

Received a call from this number stating thEy were extending my free life insurance and had all the details so seemed legitamate.

Claimed to be O2 offering to save me £2

called me asking for my pesonal details (including bank details) offering identity theft insurance, sounded dodgy, i didnt give them my details they already knew all my details apparantly from a topman store card and signed me up to a 30 day trail (without my consent)which i now have to ring to cancel before they start charging me!!! I googled the number to find out more about these people and its seems useful. DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE especially when i ticked the box specifing that i did not want to be contacted by 3rd parties.

We've been getting calls from this number too, just got another one a few mins ago...they hung up, so I did the 1471-3 'the listening company' who are marketing for many clients. Said to redial 08000324617015 if you want to be removed from their database, so just done that and said it'll take up to 24 hours for our number to be removed.

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this I see there's 12 pages about this number but I haven't got the time to read through all.
Good luck & fingers crossed we can stop these annoying calls!!!

got a call  from this  number  at 14.48  on 22nd Jan , clAIMING TO  be JULIAN FROM THE LOYALTY  TEAM  AT  o2, ABOUT  UPGRADING THE PHONE,  as  i  had  called to try and upgrade to o2 the day before  unsuccesfully, i thought  it  was extension  of that and  we went thro all the details etc and  new agreements..  it was  a long call , this  same chap  has called me  many times before  over the past 2 years about upgradesnad phones, I was not suspicious.. agreed new phone and am  still waiting for  its delivery!!  on checking with o2  today, they know  nothing about the deal!! I am  concenred now  re security and etcetc.. calling the number registered on my phone  it  is this one re  the Listening company.

Just had a call from this number, they left a message stating that they were Sky customer relations and would call back later - we'll see!!

Just had a call from this number claiming to be calling me regarding a store card, and offering protection of identity theft and fraud and all that rubbish. Bearing in mind this call was at 8.45pm. I'm sure most legit companies wouldnt call at this time.

We are TPS registered. Received a call yesterday.

I said "Are you trying to sell me something?"

She said she just wanted to "give me information" about mobile phones.

I said "You are trying to sell me something, aren't you?"

Click/brrrrrrrr.

Today same time about, a silent call

got a call just now at 20:46. Heard some voices in the background. Said "Hello?" a couple of times and they hung up. Not the first time they've called and hung up.

Got a call today at my shop, the said they were my bank, Alliance and Leicester. I was out, the staff took the message. Not my bank...

Got the same type of call with same 0800 num asking me there is an identity fraud on my account and asking me to confirm my details, i said line is not clear and i told them to call me back.i called that num back found to be a "Marketing Company", so that i thougt its fraud...! so BECAREFULL NOT TO GIVE ANY OF YOU DETAILS TO THEM...

Had several calls over the past week, have to answer as im waiting to hear about a job, either nothing said or they ask to speak to me by name then hang up when i confirm its me. so irritating!

They called me on 10/02/08 No one replied once I said hello and the line went dead. These people should be stopped from doing this.

Called this morning on our business line, claiming to be from Orange Business asking questions about our phone supplier & do we have mobiles.  Told them not interested - and didn't give them my name - just as well judging by other comments..............
