Had a call from this company the other day - said they were from H&R Design. I just give them the "I'm registered with TPS" standard comment but we seem to be going through a phase of these calls. Also had one from 0131 220 1351 claiming to be Scottish Gas but the number is actually the fax number for LettingWeb.com in Edinburgh.

I've just had a call from this number. Guy asked me to confirm my name - I declined and asked him who he was. He said his name to me 3 times but very burbled so I couldn't hear it. I asked him what he wanted and, like Tiff's experience (see her entry above on 20th March), he were calling on behalf of BT and were trying to sell me a BT Credit Card.
I cut him short and told him that I wasn't the person he was after and I wasn't interested in the card!

COINCIDENTLY though.....I happened to be on 'whocallsme.com' at the time of the call!!!! (honestly!!Because I've received a number of 'questionable' phone calls over the past week and was looking those up!) So, whilst I was speaking to this chump, I put the 08003896818 number in and hit 'search'! Then I proceeded to read out extracts of everyone's comments and tell him that I knew his game!!
He didn't half hang up quickly!! Hilarious!!!

I just got a call from that number.  When I answered a young man said, "Can I speak to Mr Bruce?"  I told him he had a wrong number.  Two minutes later someone was knocking on my door.  Whoever it was was gone by the time I answered.

Had calls from this and another 020833 number which i have also reported - i never answer. annoying all the same.

When I answered a call from this number yesterday evening, the pleasant chap on the other end claimed he was from MBNA Credit Card and offered a 0% balance transfer to the card; all he needed was the number of the card from which I wanted to transfer. Realising quite quickly that it was a poor attempt at getting card details I ask him to confirm details from my MBNA card - he couldn't saying he wasn't able to access them from his system. I then told him I wasn't stupid enough to give him any information whatsoever; he remained calm and pleasant throughout the call.
BEWARE - do not fall for this!

Not had a call from this number since 2nd April (see previous entry above) but lo and behold they tried again yesterday at just gone 5pm, so as before I let the phone ring and the answer machine kicked in but you can guess what happened next, they didn't bother to leave a message.  Perhaps they will get fed up sooner or later.

I just had a missed call from thi number, was in he bath so wasn't able to answer it. Googled it out of curiosity and ended up here! Now I'm pleased I did miss the call!

They called us this evening.

Said they were from Sky TV and asked my dad for his password and mothers maiden name.

Flipping dodgy or WHAT!?

DO NOT GIVE THESE GUYS ANY INFO!

They somehow got our details including my dads first name!

Keep getting calls from this - nobody there when I answer phone, will ignore now I know they are time wasters, Thanks everyone

yes me too......twice a day!!! how anoying.i put them in my phone as "scammers do not answer".to make sure i dont answer the phone on this one!!!(business phone)....

Got a call from this number saying they were phoning from 02. They asked me to confirm details of my account and when I questioned them they hung up.

I have previously put comments about this above, although they cease calling for a few days they then started again, I now get them trying at least once a day.  If I'm in and happen to have the phone with me I pick up the phone but hang up straight away.  I too have programmed them into my phone to show up as DO NOT ANSWER and have told all the family not to answer it.  When will they give up?

Just had a call too, had several over the last few weeks, right pain in the doodah!

Decided to make a complaint to the TPS seeing as I registered with them a while ago but they cannot do much unless I supply them with a Company name, this is the email I got back from them - "Thank you for your correspondence regarding the receipt of an unsolicited direct marketing call.

You may already be aware that TPS does not have the facilities to know which companies are calling you and therefore relies on the complainant to ascertain this information upon the receipt of an unsolicited direct marketing call.

Despite our best efforts CTPS has not been able to ascertain address details for this particular complaint. Please remember the more information supplied, (as a minimum we require the company name and date of the call/s although this may be insufficient to investigate your complaint) the more likely we are able to elicit a response from the telemarketing company involved.

Please visit www.tpsonline.org.uk to complete a complaints form should you receive further calls."

If this Company is indeed called The Listening Company as someone had stated earlier at the beginning of this thread then at least I can let TPS know that is the name of the company, but does anyone know for definite that is who it is?  Must say have had no calls today - but the day is still young!

Called 8pm tonight, couldn't get to the phone as I was putting my children to bed. If they call again I'll answer and leave the phone on the side and get on with whatever i'm doing. I'm sure they'll get fed up rather quickly with no one replying after they've gone on for a while. It'll waste their phone bill and their time, not ours!
