Just received a call from this number - didn't answer, though have also been receiving a lot of texts from it saying they need to activate my card. WHAT CARD????!!? Think it's a scam - BE WARE!

Had a call from these guys last night and just now asking for my wife by her maiden name. They gave me some speil about ID theft protection.

If you do 1471 you get the 08003896818 number, if you call that you get a recorded message saying the are a marketing company called the "listening company", and if you want your number removed you have to call 08000324617. Calling this you get an automated system and you can select to remove your number (but it can take upto 24hrs.

Our number is listed on the TPS by the way......

As dan mentioned above.....I dialed that number and removed mine from there call list so hopefully no more calls from these waisters who have been bugging me daily for 2 years.

come on boys and girls, do deregister your number to stop the calls, but dont stop there.Let the company know how much you dilike their antics and follow suit.Try making a few nuisanse calls to their offices, numbers on line and in the books, and if you meet/see the CEO or its directors in public, be sure to express your disapproval in whatever manner you see fit, and be rude, that is after all their mode of operation.

Come on people. Get yourself a Truecall unit. My calls have decreased from 10 a week of absolutely **** to 3 a month. Only time i look is when i up-lift to my laptop.

Virgin Credit Card - checking to see if I wanted more credit. Nothing sinister.

Over the last week i've had 4 calls from this number. First time they hung up as I answered the phone, two calls I missed 4th time was yesterday and they said they were from some card company, calling me about my Miss Selfridge card (I cancelled this card in December 09). Half way through our conversation they hung up again. I called my card company and nothing has changed and nobody has tried to use my information.
It looks like it's purely timewasters but keep an eye on your finances.

I can't believe there isn't a way of blocking this number from ringing, its ridiculous.  All vodafone suggested was for me to change my number, which is a complete hassle in itself. What a joke.

Number keeps calling and then hangs up, one caller said they were from a card insurance company for Evans Store.  Number rings again and they hang up.

Do not trust this number - they are fraudulent and after your details.

So annoying - this number called me nearly everyday and sometimes twice for a few weeks until i found this website. Thanks to Patricia as per her comments below as i did this and they have now stopped.

Received a call from this number this morning, but immediate hang up.  When one rings back, there is a message from The Listening Company, admitting to being a marketing agency and some instructions for removing your number, by dialling 0800 032 4617.  It seems legitimate.

I have been plagued by these people, no one ever speaks and have rung 0800 032 4617, hopefully it will now stop

They have called me so many times and I have missed the call then I answered tonight they asked to speak to my fiance then hung up on me don't know who they are very strange

I have received 3 calls so far from this "Listening Company" noise in the background and they hang up.  Sick of this - i am registered with the TPS, and have now just complained to them!

This number keeps ringing me every hour from about 13:00 - 17:00 for the past 5 days now.  Won't pick up as I generally don't unless I have the number. After reading the above i will definately be ignoring it

right guys i used to work for this company, now you can ring up sky or MBNA or who ever they are ring on behalf and asked to be taken of the mail and telephone list, it will take up to around 8 weeks to be removed from this list, but you will be removed.

call received over a number of days but when answered it there is no one there.  doesnt even leave a message

Just recived a call from this number 0800 3896818, claiming to be sky TV

they called and asked for me by name - they asked if i had a debenhams card (which i do) but told them i would only deal with letters not calls. they ended so hope thats the last!
