    Most of you people are very stupid

    If you would listen to who is on the other end of the phone you might understand who is calling you instead you decide to hang up for some strange reason.

    The phone call was in regards to your store card as I'm sure the person told you at the start of the call
    and all they asked you to do is confirm your first name and postcode they already have your details  that's why they ask you to "confirm"

    Why put the phone down on someone that care about your identity?

    When you Sign up to service and provide your telephone on the application form expect a to be called

    If you don't want to be called don't put your phone number down Simple :)

    Blank answerphone message from this number 0800 3896818 today on our landline, which is registered with TPS.

    It *coincidentally* immediately follows on from my having repeated daily nuisance calls to my mobile from another number (also reported on this site) 08080 600832.  Caller knew my name, claimed to be Vodafone and wanted to discuss my account.  Hung up, when I refused & challenged him.

    I'm very careful with personal details and rarely have these problems.  So I'm fairly certain they are either linked or have sold details on.

    Had a call from this number on Saturday, left no message and a call today same. googled the number and found this page. are these scammers pure and simple?

    Been getting calls from this number for a couple of weeks, and annoyingly they leave no message. I was feeling a bit worried after reading all these comments, so even though I don't usually answer calls from this sort of number, I did today. Turned out to be MBNA (who I do have an account with) just offering me a balance transfer - nothing to worry about!

    Seems like a lot of different companies use that number to call from - I still wouldn't give out any details though unless you're 100 percent certain they're genuine! In fact I wasn't asked for any details, and I'd be a bit worried if a company called ME and then wanted me to confirm who I was!

    If they'd just leave a flipping message...!

    Had a call from 0800 3896818 telling I had not made a payment on MBNA card.  The guy even knew a balance (which, as it happens, had been transferred to another card).  He advised me to riut ng MBNA to enquire about the balance and non payment.  My balance was zero and MBNA told me whoever it was had nothing to do with them.  I typed the number on the internet and of course, there are loads of complaints.  I rang them and it said they were a marketing agency.  16 June 2010

    This is a real pain.  The phone rings from this number several times during the day and evening, everyday!  There is never a message left on my answerphone.  1471 shows it is an automated call from the Listening Agency (if they are listening - please go away!). These types of calls should be banned as what is a nuisance to me, could cause an accident to an elderly person rushing to answer this call.

    Ive had a few calls from this number and stupidly didnt check on line until today 0800 3896818.  Lots of hang ups, but also lots of 'marketing agency' calls recently.  Interestingly seeing poster 2 below, I have also recently transferred my balance away from MBNA, I wonder if MBNA outsource retention calls to The Listening Company?  I also had a call from 'MBNA' today offering me a balance t/f rate for 9 mths, when I said I just moved balance away he said yes I know, when I declined the offer he suggested I take advantage of the interest free cash offer to my bank instead.  Perhaps waiting for me to hand bank details over? I wish there was something we coudl do about these nuisance calls, Im a member of TPS as well. Grrrrr

    Keep getting calls from this number (6 today so far!!!) alleging they are from Sky, my partner answered and they said they were from sky and would like to speak to the account holder (gave an initial and my partners surmname which is completely different to mine. They start with an R then proceed to try different initials and when told not the account holder they hang up. They then call back and ask to speak to Sky account holder, I answered that call and asked for the name of the account holdder, if they were from Sky they would know!! Have told them to stop calling but still they persist.

    It rings, I pick it up, they hang up.. Several times a week now.  No mention of names, companies, just office chatter in the background and then dial tone.  I use it as my new stress reducer, instead of swearing during work i jsut vent at them :)

    I've had 2 calls from this no. today, they didn't speak on the 1st one, but the 2nd time they said they represented Sky & needed for me to confirm my date of birth.  Needless to say, I didn't !  I've also had a call from 0413050009376, with a recorded message in a strong American accent.  Didn't listen to the message, just told them to "f*** off".

    I have just taken a call from this company, asking for my husband who was out.  I did point out that we are on TPS and don't acccept cold calls.  He didn't actually seem to understand what TPS was I did suggest, politely of course, that he check with his supervisor - actually I had to shout to try and get him to understand what I was saying, I also had to enunciate each word.  his reply ' so your husband doesn't like accepting phone calls!'

    Whilst accepting that this might be a very useful tool for large companies, what use is it to a disabled pensioner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

    Over the past 10 days or so I've received numerous calls from this number - no messages have been left and I've not answered any of the calls as I don't recognise the number.  Most of the calls are a weekday mid-afternoon, but one was on a Saturday lunchtime, which I regard as intrusive.

    They called I didn't answer - callers like this are why I leave my Phone on answer phone and pick up when I know the caller.This is a major inconvenience as I work from home - but better than being harassed by annoying and unscrupulous companies!
