- NickyI was called today by Virgin Media, my 4 year old Daughter answered the call and they did not ask for me, simply told my Daughter who they were, she had the good sense to hang up since I was not in the room and came to tell me, I contacted Virgin Media and they have no record of that number calling me and advised me that it is very unlikely to be genuine and is not Virgin Media.
- Caller: Spam saying they are virgin media
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SukieThis was a marketing call from Virgin Media, asking me if I wanted to upgrade my mobile phone to the them, the man Liam got very shirty when I said why would I want to go with you when you use the same Mobile Phone Providers Service as I'm already using he asked who it was so I said EE, he then said for a better deal I told him I have a good deal anyway so why would I change so then he asked what was my deal was I told him it had nothing to do with him! Then got on his high horse saying I'm only calling to offer you a good deal, I just said goodbye and hung up on the bloke! Waste my time going through all their spiel to the same end, I'm not going to use Virgin Media as you use the company I'm with to provide me with the service I already get direct from them!

- MartyGot a call from this number today. Claimed to be from Virgin Media, saying they needed to arrange a date and time to replace my V+ box as it would stop working in about 2 months time (something about them all being replaced by Tivos). He then asked for my security details, which I of course refused to give him. Whilst he sounded quite convincing, something just didn't feel right.

- janxhI've had multiple calls from this number and when i accidentally answered it the person was allegedly from Virgin Media. She seemed to know how long I'd been with Virgin and as a "reward" offered me a phone at a discounted price. I explained i could not use many mobile phones due to eye disease so was offered a sim card at a discounted monthly payment. I found this very pressurised selling and when i said my phone is locked to 3 and i was in a contract with them, undeterred she insisted she send the card and if i didn't want it i could send it back. Once again i said it was pointless as previously explained. It also appears this is a totally seperate billing to my virgin media account and i was asked for a password to set up an account. At the point I ended the call. The whole call was very pressured and it just didn;t feel right. If this is indeed virgin then they need to stop pressure marketing. I've since had 10+ calls despite insisting this is no use to me.

- MHave been receiving lots of phone calls from that number on my mobile recently. Today I picked it up. A man with Indian accent introduce himself as Virgin Media team. I had a brief chat with him, as he was offering me some bundle. I have politely refused an offer and hung up. Then straight after I phoned a Virgin Media myself on 0345 454 1111 and it was confirmed to me, that 08004089340 is a genuine Virgin Media team number.

- SukieYet another call from Virgin Media calling to sell me a mobile phone that's another call I've had this week from them can't seem to get it into their thick heads or feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall as obviously the Asian's in the call centre don't understand I don't want to have a mobile phone with them, as have had two other calls today on another number 08001836403 no doubt about phones again as this number has called me about phones before!

- konasky replies to ClarkeIn answer to 'Clarke' above I'm typing this in May 2018...just after I myself have received a number of calls lately from that same fake 'Virgin Media' number...so much for any promises from Virgin to investigate same..!!!. Actually, its almost magical 'Clarke' managed to reach them at all..Virgin are notorious for their ducking and diving tactics when customers with complaints try to contact them..!! Having tried myself by telephone and finding myself quickly diverted to someone in Manilla...then fobbed off to yet another in Mumbai.. I wouldn't be surprised if trying to reach Virgin's customer care dept. ( ..if there actually IS one..) gave JK Rowling the inspiration for catching the Hogwarts Express...!!
- moomincalled today did not pick up
- itsmeagainCalled me tonight, they'd gone by the time I picked it up.
They called me from a different number 08001836411 yesterday even though I asked them to phone me back 2 weeks in to January when they 1st called me before Christmas.

Hi
I understand that these calls aren't appreciated by everyone, and would urge that if any of our customers no longer wish to receive calls from us, that you should contact our customer service team on the usual numbers - 150 / 0345 454 1111 and we'll be able to take your number off the list.
I can confirm that 0800 408 9340 is a Virgin Media line, as confirmed when you call it back (it's 0800 so it's free on a landline).- Caller: Virginmedia
