Sounded like an asian lady on the phone, asking for my ntl account details. She wanted password, pin number, and bank details. I refused to give them of course.

Marketing/courtesy call from Virgin Media

Someone rang me today from this number and said they were from Virgin Media, but they were only trying to get details.  There were children making a noise in the background.  This number is being investigated by Virgin after I reported it to them.

I keep constantly getting this number on my Mobile... never answer it though...so not sure who it is?  And I am not with Virgin on my mobile...only Broadband...they are a flippin nuisance whoever they are.?

I keep missing calls from this number on my home phone. Today I answered it and the caller seemed annoyed when I told them that the account wasn't in my name so I couldn't give them any details. I wouldn't have provided them if I had them, but they wouldn't listen to the fact that I didn't have any details to give them and insisted that they needed them.

Thank you for reporting it!!! I have been called by this same number, but never pick up, as i do not know who it is, even though they persistently call.

i got a chinese sounding woman who had my virginmedia details up on her screen , could not understand a word she said but she was looking at my account saying that i could save money on tel calls if i took out a virginmedia mobile handset it is free to me and i get 100 texts , 100 minutes and free calls to other people who are on virginmedia mobile network(i dont anyone who uses it!) i pulled plug out wall and pretended to have got cut off and so it has rung 3 times again and got my answeirng machine its marketting agenst in virginmedia/ex ntl. trying to get new sign ups for effin mobiles that i do not want and once they trap you on the phone they speak non stop and i feel like saying 'yes make mine with chips and hold the nippy sauce'

I'm with Virgin Media for my broadband only and have been getting calls about once a day from this number over the past few days.  Thanks this page I now know that I've been doing the right thing in ignoring it.

Latest I've had this number try to phone me was after 8pm which i felt was a bit strange at the time, I certainly wouldn't expect VirginMedia to contact me at that time of night.

i have never answered the call, but have been persistently pestered at unsociable hours to my annoyance.

Hello this girl is talking about excel.
Never heard that virginmedia has excel.

Getting phone calls from this number every half an hour, i've already picked up the phone & told them to stop calling me, i work nightshift so trying to sleep & don't wish to be disturbed by stupid phonecalls that want to sell me things i don't want.

Claimed to be from Virgin Media but didn't even know anything when I quizzed the caller, hung up when they asked me for my password.

Because of their out of date systems, I have NINE different accounts with Virgin Media.  That's nine lots of marketing "courtesy calls".  If they can't get through to your mobile, they try again TWICE more.  That's THREE calls x NINE accounts = 27 marketing calls from them in ONE DAY!  

I called their Customer Care 0845 454 1111 and hopefully it has stopped.  It took about an hour on the phone to them though to get it sorted, so good luck!

I answered and the lady sounded oriental !!!?? Once i confirmed i was a virgin media customer she asked whether i had broadband ...surely if shere were from customer services she would already know this.
Then i said i already had a subscirber for that, and she started babling on about she how she could transfer the number for free, I then hung up because she seemed to be talking at me not to me. Think its a telesales office or a scammmmmmmmmm

Ok, this appears genuine but IS a marketing call from Virgin Mobile. The woman that called me knew what services I have from Virgin Media, and also knew the first and last characters of my phone password. Asked if I was interested in a Virgin mobile or a dongle (for internet access on the move) - but I explained I wasn't interested.  I will say she was very professional and didn't push (although she did use my first name a lot).  At the end of the call she said if I changed my mind then give Virgin a call on 150.
So after the call I called Virgin Media to check it was genuine... and change my password just in case! It was genuine, but I was told it was Virgin Mobile (the guy could see a record of their call to me).  He also offered to take me off their list so I shouldn't get any calls again.
We'll see what happens now, but at the moment I'm fairly happy with Virgin's customer service over this.

Didn't answer this call but have had this number ring lots of times. Can't they be stopped?

I rang this number back as I thought it was from a complany i had been trying to contact - it came up with the 02 answer message. I rang the official 02 number and they said it wasnt them as they would leave a message or email and there were no notes on my account.

Got a phone call from this no. claiming it was virginmedia, i found a bit too much what the woman was offering me, so I told her I had to call my wife at hat precise time and she could call me back later, she was happy with that and end the talk. The reason why I found the offer strange was because I still have 4 months of contract with bt line and o2 internet and she said that virginmedia would pay me £50 to end both contracts and join virgin, she new I have cable tv with virgin and offered 6 months free unlimited phone and 2 months free 10mb internet, a bit too much i think. Anyway, got on the phone with real virginmedia customer service and explained what happend, and although they couldn't check the phone number they could see on their system that a sales person contacted me minutes before and they asured it was a real virgin media caller.
