This number keeps ringing me and does not leave a message. It has been going on for weeks and is sometimes several times a day.

If it annoys you that much that someone else is annoyed that much; maybe you need to look closer at your own life than looking at posts about other people getting annoyed on forums??

I had one too from this exact number. Called Virgin Media and they confirmed it was from a genuine VM call centre but obviously a VERY badly managed one with untrained staff.  When will they ever learn that this just loses them customers!

I doubt they are virgin media because when a company calls they ask the security questions first to identify if they are talking to the account holder. but when they call they asked he security question aft 10 minutes...i have my doubts

For all those that are doubting they are virgin media I can tell you that it really is them. I rang them MYSELF to tell them about the dodgy calls I was receiving and the email that they said they would be sending me in the next few minutes.

The email I received was titled THE TEAM
I would of thought it would have been more professional if it was addressed VIRGIN MEDIA but they could confirm they time they called me and the time my email was sent out!!

they are totally inept if this is the way virgin media want to run their business

Like you I am considering leaving Virgin because of their woeful customer services and never being able to access my account for months on end. They are always have ' technical ' problems. Not very encouraging from a communications company is it?
Tonight they have rung and left no message just a noise on my answering machine. Luckily I have a TrueCall machine and so blocked their number for good. If you haven't got one, get one. Stops all the telephone harassment dead.
At my previous address Virgin would cut my landline on a weekly basis saying that it was kids etc breaking into the street boxes. There was no street boxes between my flat and the exchange and it was very funny out of thousands of wires, they would only cut mine.
    P*ss poor service and expensive.

I am a Virgin Media customer.  I was just called by this number.  They said they wanted to offer me a better deal then started asking for password details.  I couldnt really make out much of what was being said - the caller had a very broad foreign accent and spoke very quickly without natural intonation.
You'd have to be daft to give password details to somebody ringing you out of the blue - especially if the call appears to be from an African call centre.
From some of the other comments here, it does appear that this is genuinely Virgin Media- in which case that organisation goes WELL DOWN in my estimation for operating like this.

    Mr. Thomas Elliott
Received a call from the above number claiming to be from Virgin. They called on my wife's P.A.Y.G mobile number but asked for me. I would like to know where they got their information from as I have got my own mobile number. If this was all above board why did they not contact me on my own number.

they are virgin media no doubt about it,i rang virgin and checked, they knew what phone i ordered and the tarriff.the caller didnt ask for bank details at the end of the conversation and even if anyone has been asked to give the 1st and 3rd character of their password (or something similar) and gave it to the caller, they cannot get very far with it because you have to give virgin your full password when you ring them.ps:i did think i had been scammed myself but they are definately legit

Received a call from a lady on this number claiming to be Virgin Media, requested the first letter of my password, when I challenged her by saying I had no password she went into a bit of a flap and didn't really know what to ask me next. After lots of ums and ers from her I hung up.
Completely unprofessional, I don't believe this was a Virgin Media respresentative as all the ones I've dealt with in the past have been completely professional and on the ball.
My personal opinion is that somewhere my number has been leaked as being a Virgin customer, and these people are contacting Virgin customers in the hope they can extract some further personal info from them.
My advice, If your happy with the service you get from Virgin and are upto date on your payments, then ignore the call. If they have something to offer you, they can always write to you as they already know your address.
If your not a Virgin then obviously ignore the call.

This is not Virgin. I got this call, then the next day rang Virgin Media - they didn't recognise the number, and there were no notes on my account to say I'd been called.

Called virgin media customer services to ask if this number belongs to them, they said "no", so I called 02 to have the number blocked who said " we can not do that" and adviced me to call the police, who told me to ring scam busters who told me to ring ofcom. Ofcom told me the number is registered to virgin media.
So i Called virgin media and they now say it does belong to them.

Virgin media adviced me they have now put me on the no call list, and i won't recive any more calls.

Called ofcom back to file a complaint.
    Complete joke.

Two calls today, both terminated their end within about two seconds. It might be Virgin Media (though I can't believe they would be so inefficient) as earlier this week I reduced my contract by taking TV off my package.

    Next time will ignore it.
