Your not wasting their time.  They get paid by making a certain amount of calls, having them answered and keeping people on the phone.  Your doing the caller a favor.  In all fairness, the people that make the calls hate sky just as much as their customers.  But for some its the only job available.  (I come from a city where almost everyone is employed by a call centre of some sort - its pretty depressing)

Keep getting calls from 08004790758....no one speaks and no messages left.
Understand from friends who have suffered similarly that it's Domestic & General on behalf of Sky...
Sky - please deal with these nuisance, unsolicited calls.

Doesn't work like this at all, D&G staff are not "self employed" but work in very large offices and yes the pay is partly commission based (to incentivize sales) plus this company are heavily regulated by outside governing bodies. Nearly every call is listened to and if an agent breaks any of these extremely stringent rules (which include, not giving customers their own information over the phone, no use of advisory language such as; only, just, recommend, advise etc.. Having to say a set of specific things in each call as skipping out certain sections of the "sales pitch" could result in a technical mis-sell) then they are reprimanded. Don't treat these people as trying to sell you something but rather that they are reading you a very long list of T's&C's, of course the main idea is to get people to sign up there and then so these agents will sometimes be pushy in trying to get you to, but there are human beings on the other end of the phone doing a job just like you do. D&G are authorized by sky and there was a chance to not have them call you at the start of taking out your sky contract, so when they call (this will work with any call centre by the way) just ask them to remove your number and say you did not opt in to the call, if you never want any calls from sky themselves then ask that SKY remove your details. Asking the right questions and reading things thoroughly could save a lot of people a lot of time and effort.... but what am I saying, I've just wasted 10 perfectly good minutes writing this all out.

Just got call from this no. Telling my I had updated my package with SKY in March so guarantee would run out in 2 months time. Obviously winging it as only had new box 2 months ago as other one had broken down. These people are trying to con people into unneeded insurance as my box was replaced free of charge.

it isnt sky, ive had these jokers on the phone, i rang sky and they said its an insurance scam that has nothing to do with them

Had a call from this number today - it is insurance for sky equipment. Person was very polite, not pushy & explained benefits of the cover.  I said I wasn't interested and he said no problem and have a nice evening.

Just had a call from these eight in the evening someone sold my private number on again not happy

Just has a call from these people. Don't know whether it was a scam , as she hung up when I creepily asked what she was wearing. That usually gets rid of telepests..

I had a call from them they had a bloody cheek asking if they could speak to mummy please I'm 62 years old told them no longer here they asked for a forwarding  address so gave them eltham  cemetery  sod em

phoned today 18 march... caller said he was phoning on behalf  of sky and represented domestic and general.at this point I told him where to go and terminated the call
