This number just called, as countless times before asking if I had/wanted insurance on my SKY (if they are anything to do with Sky wouldn't they know if I had it with them and have the details ready before calling?) I told them no I didn't want it! They said they were DOMESTIC & GENERAL calling on behalf of Sky! I shall be onto Sky to see if this is true! After this the caller began asking if I wanted insurance on tablets (which I don't have) and things; I got fed up; told him I didn't want insurance and put the phone down, rude I know and I hate doing it but I didn't ask him to call did I?

The same happened to me today and as soon as I saw 0800 I rejected the call.

I was called by this number today,I am ex-directory and a member of the telephone preference service therefore I should not be receiving cold calls.

Constantly received call from this number.  Have asked them to stop, but they ignore my request.

Just had a missed call on my mobile from this number, Dialled it back from work and recorded message saying "Thanks for calling this number is no longer in use, you can get more information including alternative contacts from Asda.com" the call then cuts off.

It's "Domestic and General" making out they're "calling on behalf of Sky TV". They try and sell you a warranty for your Sky plus box that you probably don't need. They also woke my sleeping baby up when they rang. Nuisances.

My work and personal phones are iPhones and you can permanently block the number from the recent calls screen.  Just press the blue "i" in the little circle on the right of the number, then down the bottom of the next screen press Block Contact.  Sorted.

At home I have a BT8500 phone, and because I've set it up to only allow calls from my contacts in the phone, I get absolutely no nuisance calls at all :)

Seems to be an insurance scam, trying to sell insurance on your Sky box - they claim to be calling on behalf of Sky, but Sky told me it's nothing to do with them and that I shouldn't take insurance on the box as it's still under warranty anyway.

Maybe "roaring" at her was the reason for her aggression.  As someone who works in a call centre, numbers are dialled automatically and it's our job to speak to the account holder.  If that person is not there then we are not allowed to speak to anyone else due to data protection laws.  May be worth remembering that this is our job, and like any job, if we don't follow rules then we could get into trouble.

Could you take just a moment of time to explain why it is important for you to follow "rules" such as the Data Protection ones which you reckon stop you providing your own identity , but OK to ignore TPS ones and common sense ones which suggest that if you hide who you are you then forfeit your right to ask me any questions?

Getting fed up with these types of calls. I never answer calls I dont have in my contacts list. LEAVE ME ALONE.

It is nothing to do with Sky even though they say it is, it's to get you to buy it. Once you have it costs you to have call outs and Sky won't touch it so beware!

Called me today and it was silent for 20 minutes so hung up and looked on here. It isn't Sky it's just Domestic & General claiming they're ringing on behalf of them. My pensioner dad was caught out with them when he was with Sky and when it came to having a repair done Sky wouldn't touch it. D&G we're going to charge an arm and a leg! Sky equipment is yours so this is why they try to get you to insure it... DON'T!!! Sky won't charge for call outs if it's a fault caused by their faulty equipment anyway!

Funny that "sky domestic and general" want you to purchase insurance on your sky products, when the sky website states that the ONLY sky endorsed cover is "sky protect".
Seems like a massive scam to me. It's not a recognised sky number either.

got call from the number on my mobile. When answered the women asked for me and then said she was from Sky and did I know my dish warrenty had run out. I said sky don't sell insurance and she had to agree that they were an insurance company working for sky. I then said I'm not paying anything as I already path a lot. She rang off.
