Just don't answer unknown numbers.  Have had four calls from different numbers in the last 10 mins alone

my answer phone is set to field calls like this. No message left, just silence then hang up.

This number has Rung  me daily, leaving no message in my answer phone.  I have now renamed this number as spam along with all the others that I can't block because my list is full, and will never pick it up.  Why can't something more be done to stop this nuisance.

You, and everyone else receiving calls from UK based companies, can do something about it.  Firstly, register with TPS.  They are useless, but it is only a first step.  Secondly, if you receive a call from a UK based company where there is s person on the other end and you get their name and address, report them to TPS. Again, that is useless, but only the second step.  Then, it they call again, report them to the informstion Commissioner's Office.  They have the legal powers and can fine such companies up to £500,000. A recent "Which" survey found that only 2% of people who complained about nuisance calls actually reported them.  Just think how we could get rid of them if we all reported these pests.  The only way to stop ALL nuisance calls (Intenational, Automated, Withheld, Unavailable number) is to buy a call blocking unit or a call blocking 'phone.  Check our Amazon or Argos but do not be fooled by the cold callers offering to stop calls.  They are a scam.

This number has rang twice on landline and three times on my mobile all within the same day...glad from all the comments I've not picked up.

Called on my landline, answered lots of office noise but no one speaking to me. Call ended by them. Straight afterwards a call to my mobile, didn't answer as it was an 0800 number. If the callers employers read this if ligitimate please use paper and the postal system to pass me information/requests.

Just had phone call from this number insurance company for sky asked if I was interested with a extra payment to be covered for damages etc said I wasn't interested and the guy asked why said I don't want it and before he hanged up says stay living cheeky git

8 calls in 5 days from this number, I finally answered and the woman asked for someone I've never heard of, She got quite aggressive when I told her she had the wrong number! Ive blocked this caller now.

Got a silent call from these. Let my ansa phone pick it up, they waited until end of message then hung up. On my blocked list now.

just had a phone call off 08004790758 bloke saying he was from domestic & general on behalf of sky, and could he speak to my husband asked him why he needed to speak to him and I also said we were not interested in anything he was trying to sell, he said he wasn't trying to sell anything so I then asked him why he wanted to speak to my husband he asked me if I had permission of the account holder ie my husband to continue the call I said yes whereupon he then tried to sell me insurance for the sky equipment!!!!!!! so he was trying to sell me something after all ( kn**head) I just put the phone down after that but no doubt more calls will come over the next few days as its usually roundabout this time of the year we get a lot of nuisance calls must have something to do with the fact that its dark nights now and these people (I use that term loosely) have got nothing better to do with their sad little lives.

Got a call from this number claiming to be from Domestic & General on behalf of Sky. Told them if they keep ringing I would report them to the police and not to ring again. Hope this works.

Calls my mobile daily and answered once but only a buzzing background sound. Nobody speaking even though I said hello. Concerned it cld be bogus and will cost me for answeribg

Had calls on landline which was blocked by bt call blocker advanced and my mobile. Sky is one of the very few companies that have both numbers.  Both calls came through within hours of each other.

This number rang our land line, didn,t recognise number so let it ring of, immediately my wife,s mobile rang with same number. Thanks for posting its to do with sky allegedly

missed call from these earlier - 2nd nuisance call today - have put on my auto reject list along with a list of numbers as long as my arm

Rang my EX directory landline which is registered with the TPS why doesn't someone prosecute these people? Were able to ring my mobile at the same time!!!! I will register a formal complaint about them.

Had a call also from sky. Funny that domestic and general deny anything to do with sky...... my boyfriend works for D&G in nottingham and sits across the room from the sky call centre people.
