Called by this number today. It was an obscene text message.

Keep calling.How do I stop them? Who is it?

always fredrickson international, rather than call they send a voicemail to your phone which bt deliver as a sms message, rather annoying as i recieve about 13 of these daily between 8am and 8:30pm..

I have even written to them on several occassions stating that i do not owe or have ever owed anything to them or any of their affiliated debt recovery companys i.e lowell financial,capquest to name some. Yes i have had some debt issues but as i told them i deal with the debtor directly , and to put it bluntly in plain ENGLISH told them to F***K OFF ! same as i was told few months previously by one of their advisors....needless to say the calls got more and more frequent during the day so if im home i just turn phone off.



Persistent calling by these people is harrassment and should be reported to service provider, and if they take no action take it to the top their telecoms ombudsman, there usualy quick to take the  appropriate action neccesary when ombudsman is mentioned.

08005875290 The number is a BT number, I found this out by phoning http://www.k-c.co.uk/help-and-support/, they were extremely helpful and said they would get in touch with BT to find out what is going on, and why when it is googled Kingston communications comes up in the search.

called me at 7.00am

08005875290 just called about 15 mins ago as I was getting ready to go to work. Came on to check and see who it was.

Had several calls from 08005875290 and 08456021111 during the last 30 mins. No idea who it was as I don't answer phone to anybody not recognised or withheld numbers

I was awoken at 7.00 am by a phone call. it was an obscure text message relayed over the phone. I pressed 1471 and got this number 08005875290

I was called from this number today. after about 15 seconds it started speaking. apparently there was a voice message from BT & after listening to it I had the option of either saving or deleting the message and most IMPORTANT i also had the option to disable this service on my number (option 4).

I have been getting calls from this number on and off ever since I changed my phone number about 18 months ago.  I am with cable.  The phone has rung about 4 times this morning it drives me mad.  There is never anyone there.  I wonder if it's worth contacting watchdog.

Just called BT, they said it is their SMS Text Service. So I called 08005875252. It is an automated service, so selceted 'change my curfew times' and waitied for option 5 to cancel the sms service full stop!

If someone wants to text me then they normally do on my mobile. You can change the times you want to access SMS in the other options so listen carefully!

Now going to wait and see if the SMS service continues to annoy me at all hours!!

Thanks for the info here it was getting on our nerves and waking the kids up.  The number provided is great as I have now stopped the service using option 5.
I just find it amazing that when you ring back BT message simply asks you to visit bt.com to see what the service is all about and gives no info on setting it up / stopping it.  
This site has better info than BT can provide about their own services.  Typical !

Good job I came here as I was about to barr the number, it was a txt from No1 daughter. so that wont be barred, not yet anyway!

type a text message frome the phone recieving them    *1#   and send to 00000  this will stop you recieving voice  messages

So, it's a text message on a landline, which I can't actually receive cos it only tells me to go to the website to find out about the service, at ten to eight on Xmas morning.

That's an automatic [***] barring offence...

this number rang me twice today(christmas day!!) i phoned them back and an automated message said i was called by BT phone text service.

recieved 12 noon xmas day wishing us a merry xmas      who sent it???

answer and they hang up 4 times
