- Faizan
- Caller: ememe
- jimgot a call 7am no one there
- Rachel| 1 replyI picked up the phone and heard this monotone "voice" telling me something about a delivery. It gave me two words of another automated message and told me to press a certain number if I wanted to listen to the message, save it (our phone doesn't have that feature) or call it back.
I didn't bother doing any of that, however.
Called about 10 minutes ago, but hasn't called back. - MJust called when I answered no one talked just silent.

advising me to go to
bt.com/text- Caller: BT TEXT?
- jenniferOk.. So I get it that its a BT number and the text service thing.. But I'm on virgins landline! So why are BT phoning me at all hours?!
- Joan CravenI have had a call today January 29 2010, the caller addressed me by name, but I was unable to decipher the dreadful accent, the subject matter, and what was being said, presumably they want me to constantly call back to clarify this rubbish. Forget it whoever you are.
- Caller: Don't know
- Roger TaylorI've been pestered by this number this morning as well even though I'm with the Post Office rather than BT. It took two calls each to BT and the Post Office to sort this out and 62 minutes of my time wasted.
What I have learned is that the service has to be stopped by your provider. This proved tricky for me as the Post Office people had not even heard of this service but with a little perseverance a most helpful representative managed it.
I'm now going to amuse myself making a complaint to the Office of the Telecommunications Ombudsman.
It is quite unacceptable to me that BT should be able to add this rogue service to my line without my knowledge or agreement and then I have to waste so much of my time getting rid of it.- Caller: BT Tex Service
- mervincalled by this number!! rang back it says go too www.bt.com/bttext then you get there it says page unavailable what a waste of my bloody time
- Caller: BT
- james_p replies to Bruce| 1 reply08005875290 this is how BT make their money, they are too miserly to employ a human to contact you so they send out an automated SMS message, disregarding the fact that you may not have a text equipped phone. This means in order to have the text read out you need to have BT's answering service enabled, which is NOT free, it costs £3 per quarter.
and on a completely different topic
Last week BT charged me £124:99 because they said I needed a new phone line installation to get BT phone service. I said my flat already had a BT line coming into it and they insisted that they needed £124:99. When the BT engineer turned up he just walked to the end of my street turned on the phone line from the cabinet and was done in less than 15 mins.
BT are a bunch of money grabbing [***]*****s - mikerecived call from above number at 07:05 today 27/02.message left 931027 nothing else?
