Report a phone call from 08007838422 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- RobboThis number rang me about 6 times a day from 6am to 10pm. I answered most times just to have the person on the other end hang up and not say anything. When they have actually talked to me they have asked for my name and DOB... which I refuse to give as surly they should at least know the name of the person they are ringing. I've complained to HSBC twice but they have been rather off hand about the matter saying that they do not make these calls at these times of the day. I have also been informed that they don't open on a Sunday yet this number rang me four times on a Sunday. I've just given up answering it and had it blocked.
- Caller: HSBC?
- HSBC CustomerHSBC Credit Department who are Philippines-based....
Usual authentication request is 2 components of your birth-date and they tell you your post-code....
I have calls from them when I go overdrawn - no problem with the concept but the sheer persistence and inability to absorb anything that does not conform to their script is absolutely appalling.
Likewise the fact that I was called at 22:25 on a Sunday evening by this number and can get no admission that it could have been them 'we close at 21:00!!!'.
HSBC seem oblivious to the fact that this type of contact will lose them customers - and given their charges for going overdrawn are as high as they are, very lucrative customers at that!!!!!- Caller: HSBC
- PoLThis 08007838422 number keeps phoning my home phone and my mobile, one after the other, but when I answer there is nobody on the line. I have given up answering now! I get aother calls from HSBC off another number. Yesterday Mark rang from HSBC but he couldn't tell me who he wanted to speak to because his computer had crashed!
- PoLTHEY HAVE JUAT RANG ME AGAIN!! First my home phone then my mobile straight after. I answered the call on my mobile but didn't say anything, they just hung up. I have been on HSBC online banking to change my contact details. I deleted my home number and entered my old mobile number which I never use. These little buggers never ever leave a message, not that I'd phone thhem back in any case!
Yes I know I owe HSBC money, They told me to contact CCCS. CCCS told me not to contact the bank if they send letters asking for money that I dont have. CCCS helped me write a letter to HSBC showing them how much I could afford a month, so thats all I pay them.
They say that they are understanding about your money problems, are they balls!! - chase Hosierthey keep harassing me and calling from and unknown number i had already payed them off in full a year ago and have a certified letter stating so. I need a number so I can contact them but can't seem to find one someone please help me.
- Caller: hsbc
- DavidIts a scam. Tell them what you think of them in as many loud obnoxious colourful phraes as you can muster. The number has an telpehone message, saying 'This is HSBC, you do not need to call back. I love a bank that won't take my calls, this is when i went oh. IF you give them anything, instantly phoned hsbc and changed all relevant details
- AnnoyedHe said he was from HSBC and phoned me at 7pm last night. He asked for security details. I asked him why is the bank phoning me at this time..and what was the call about?
He said his name was Daniel, and he couldn't tell me what it was about until I'd answered some security questions. He just kept saying it wasn't a marketing call.
I told him I wasn't interested.- Caller: HSBC
- AdamHad 3 calls from this number today from 3 English sounding people, all claiming to be from HSBC and demanding my security information before they could proceed. The first I turned away, the second gave me number 08456 077088 to call back (I didn't), the 3rd I told firmly to go away and to correspond with me by post in future, to which they responded that they "proceed with the action" before I cut them off!
Called HSBC who said that they had no record of anyone calling me, nothing was wrong with my account and not to respond to such callers.- Caller: HSBC, allegedly
- SteveNumerous calls this week from Indians claiming to be the HSBC. They have been clearly told that she's away all week and still the calls persist. I hacve tried extreme rudeness and also the silent treatment.
I called the number back and was told by a recording that I had been called by the HSBC and that "there was no need to take any further action"
If they really want to talk to her about her affairs they should find somebody who can speak enough english to at least pronounce her name. If all they want to do is sell her something I think they may be on a loser this time ;)- Caller: HSBC
- Jive Dude1Yup, called twice by the number last night on my mobile around eight, claiming to be HSBC. They've never called me before on my mobile so I was instantly suspicious. They called twice again this evening at around 9, after calling my house phone first. If a female voice answers the house phone (I'm male) they don't even bother asking for me! Very dodge! So I called HSBC and they had no record of anyone from the bank calling me. From the messages here though, it looks as if it might be HSBC, but it astounds me that they have no idea of why I'm being called by someone purporting to be HSBC......World's Local Bank my ar$e!
- AnnoyedNo this number isn't a scam. Yes it is the HSBC. Totally agree with the above comment. Worlds local bank AH AH they are having a laugh. Because of the size of the company they think they can bully everyone. Don't think so.
Keep emailing the customer services department regarding the phone calls and demand it stops. Send them a telephone harrasment warning. Report them to ofcom. Even the local branches can't get any satisfaction. Bombard them like they do you. I did. As for the guy in contact with the CCC........ they ignore their letters as I have found out as I too am dealing with them. In fact they lie through their back teeth and say they have no records of telephone conversations or letters. And they certainly dont help you with money problems they just make them worse. But if you are on the ball you can catch them out quiet often when they lie.- Caller: HSBC Hipocrits
- louisaonce a day so far, omly answered today- know one is the opther end. (day 3)
- Caller: ?
- ErinI've had 11 missed calls from this number and have answered twice only to have no one on the other end, and then the call drops. I am a little relieved to find out it is HSBC but wary after all of the messages listed above.
- AJJust received a call from the number 0800 783 8422. Did pick up because I never do to unknown numbers. Called it back which stated by an automated female voice that "I had been called by HSBC but no further action needs to be taken." Um, strange. I'll wait to see if it calls me back.
- BBOk if this HSBC, why on earth are they phoning me, I have nothing to do them.. no credit cards, accounts etc.
- HattieCalls from this number have been ringing me several times a day for at least a week now. I usually let the answermachine do its job, whereby I have been left several messages with either nothing at all or what sounds like a call centre in the background. This evening though I answered the phone, whereby a woman asked for someone who I have never heard of and certainly doesn't live at my address. The caller gave no details of who she was or where she was calling from but just asked for the unknown person. Very strange I think, especially if the number belongs to HSBC. If it doesn't then they need to take heed, and if it does then they still need to take heed that it is an unacceptable way of trying to contact people. I for one would not give any personal details over the phone.
- jenithis number kept ringing and ringing me every hour for a week! i found out it was hsbc but they couldnt give me a reason why they were ringing me! it was the same man ringing me asking for my name and i said i am not confirming any more details over the phone! after more problems with hsbc i have now left!!!
- RuthI am an HSBC customer. I have had missed calls on my mobile from this number and then normally my landline at work rings straight after and it is the same number calling. I have never picked up. Sometimes they only ring for a few seconds anyway. They never leave an answerphone message.
I have also received similar missed calls on my mobile/landline in the past few weeks (normally a few a day) and none of them are traceable on Google - internet posts seem to suggest that they are all HSBC/money telesales/collections call centre numbers??? Apologies if this is incorrect information but in my mind they are all linked somehow because none of these numbers ever leaves a message. The numbers who are repeatedly calling me are below. As my partner deals with our financial arrangements I have so far not picked up.

- HattieDespite me telling them last night that they have a wrong number and the person they are asking for doesn't live here, they are still calling again today. Just HOW STUPID are these people??? HSBC, you really do need to listen when we tell you that WE DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED THIS WAY AND HARASSED BY YOU CALLING US TIME & TIME AGAIN. GO AWAY. LEAVE US ALONE. If you lose customers because of it then it serves you right. Though I doubt that you care very much anyway.
- New Co-op Bank CustomerHSBC call me all the time. I am currently playing off a debt to them; the payments are managed and there is no reason to call me. However, they continue to do so - several times a day - even on Sundays. In exasperation, I logged onto the HSBC Website and changed my contact telephone number to: 0800 7838422.
- Caller: HSBC
