- JunkcatcherWe have no business with with HSBC and have been getting calls from this number as we never pick-up calls from anything other than normal UK numbers they are wasting their time. From now on HSBC and connected companies are on my black list. Also note the caller display number can be faked.
If they a call again are actually HSBC the will get told exactly what I think of such marketing methods.- Caller: HSBC or faked HSBC caller ID

- An IT Security PersonI have been receiving calls from this number for the passed few days. They leave a message saying they are so'and'so from HSBC and ask me to call them back - which I do not. I do not have an HSBC account, nor do I have an HSBC credit card or savings...going to block the number right now!

- bzrAnswer the phone, talk very quietly, when they turn the volume up on there headset, use a high pitched attack alarm, this has worked for me in the past! worth the money because you will be laffing for a good while!!
- Caller: hsbc
- FredHave just received a call on my mobile from this number. A lot of posters on here have indicated this is HSBC. I work for HSBC and am confident that the call is not from HSBC, as they have never had my mobile number!
- SimonThis is HSBC - One of my customers works there and called me from his work phone; he's based in Canary Wharf, London.
- Caller: HSBC
- BriandHad a call from this number which was logged by my system - and it is ok. Looks like its a generic number used by HSBC and First Direct as the call centre I replied to was in Scotland. I was called as a result of a complaint I made and like other people who posted I had to be sure it was my bank. The caller gave me enough information, and complied with a request I made regarding my account so it is genuine. So alls from an Indian call centre may be spoofing the number via IP?
- Caller: First Direct
- Call type: Event reminder
- FrancesThis number called twice and as we didn't recognise the number we ignored it but on the third call decided to answer it and it was HSBC who I wanted to speak to! So I can confirm that this is a bona fide number.
- Caller: HSBC
- dbCaller gave name as John lewis. Would not say why they were calling without further personal information from me which I refused and requested contact by post only which they seemed reluctant to do. Offered to give me no to ring to confirm they were in fact John lewis which I refused to do.
- Caller: john lewis
- DI just had a call from this number, it was genuine in this case as I have recently applied for a credit card and they gave me details such as part of my DOB and Postcode and asked me to tell them the rest. However, just because this was a genuine call, doesn't mean all calls that appear to be from this number will be genuine. Always check.
- Caller: John Lewis Financial Services
- DavidHad to call First Direct about an issue and they called me back using the above number. This is genuine and not any scammers.
