- Ingythis number called me 10 times today .. HSBC are a bunch of useless C***s .. I went to my LOCAL branch a few weeks ago about a problem and the "customer services" rep gave me a leaflet and told me to ring a number (an 0845 no.) i thought customer services were supposed to be there for the customer!
One time i answered to this number and I was told "we are unable to connect your call, thankyou for calling HSBC .. " in which case I promptly hung up and checked my credit balance. A few days later I answered and it was dead silent in the background ..- Caller: HSBC
- RussellI receive literally dozens of calls on my mobile from this number. I rang the number back on a landline & found that it was HSBC. I have answered it once but it’s a call centre based in India (I think). After confirming my date of birth & first line of my address (which I repeated several times) I was getting very frustrated. I know when I become overdrawn & I have every intention to pay back the funds. It just takes time especially when they call me before pay day. One time the Operator wanted me to supply me with a Home telephone number. Why on earth would I want to give them that? If they call me 15 to 20 times on my mobile then they will call my home. Surely there is a limit to how many times they can call someone in a day. It’s becoming rather silly & I’m really angry & frustrated & if it continues I will be forced to change my mobile number. I am definitely thinking on changing banks. E.g. Natwest. Least according to their advert they have UK ONLY CALL CENTRES. HSBC should review their ways on contacting their Customers instead of constantly ringing them from 08:30 until 10pm each day.

- helenMy son gets calls from this number (08007838422) up to about 6.30 pm. They ask for him using his full name but when I ask who's calling they won't tell me! Even when I say I'll take a message and get him to call them they refuse to say who they are. I thought it was some kind of cold calling to sell him something but having, finally, looked this number up, realise it could be HSBC. Strange and unproductive business service.
- Caller: apparently hsbs
- Michael LongthorneI have had many calls from this number and they seem to ring for one ring and I never get time to answer it so i have never found out who it is? I haven't got a clue what they are after
- PaulI keep receiving calls to my mobile from this number. They hang up as soon as I say "Hello" - very annoying
- AngieThis number keeps on calling two or three times a day but as soon as you answer it cuts off, very very irritating!!!!!!
- Neil HobsonI have been called by this number twice in 2 days - but I have "missed" the call on both occasions. From reading the above coments I assume it's HSBC's Call Centre - but they don't leave messages, I use internet banking and they havn't tried to reach me on that, they havn't tried to reach me by post, and as far as I'm awar they haven't phoned my home number.... how long will the missed calls go on. HSBC are rubbish at customer services when they work out how to "treat customers fairly" I might get around to answer the call.

- LjJust received a call from this number however it didn't ring long enough to catch it. I phoned it back and it was an automated message saying "You were called by HSBC bank no further action is required by yourself and there is no need to return the call"
- Caller: HSBC
- AndrewCompleat pain in the backside.
- BobI received a voicemail message (couldn't answer quick enough!) from caller ID'd number 08007838422 asking an 'R S Bury' to call HSBC back urgently quoting reference 'D1' on 08456081878 and, if I was abroad, 00441226347012.
Since my last name is nothing like 'Bury' and I don't hold an HSBC account or any account managed by HSBC (HFC, M&S, etc), I figured this for a phishing call and phoned the details through to HSBC's security/fraud department (details on their website) where the operative assured me that they would forward the details on for investigation...- Caller: HSBC?
- stalkersI was called today, 16:00, from this same number asking for Andrew Smith - which was ofcourse the wrong number.
Having missed 2 calls from the same number yesterday, naturally I googled it.
Not impressed.- Caller: hung up
- bernardI advise not speaking to these people. The HSBC had no records of any calls, to my wife, from this number today. Today this number has phoned three times and it is not just today. Anybody can phone you, say they are from the HSBC and take all sorts of personal information if you let them.
- JakeI received a call to tell me it there had been the possibility of fraud on my HSBC account and I was being issued with a new card.
I phoned the contact number on the back of my debit card to clarify and they confirmed it was legit.- Caller: HSBC
- BamJust called this number back after refusing to answer.
"You were called by HSBC Bank, there is no further action required on your part and you do not need to return the call"
What the hell is that about?! - TedBeing called 6 or 7 times a day this has been going on for a week. Any 'messages' left are just silence. Very glad I googled the number! I have written to HSBC saying if doesn't stop I'm closing my account. I've also asked that they only correspond with me via letter.

- RichardIt is HSBC and it is shoddy practice (comment by 'unimpressed').
I bank with HSBC offshore of mainland UK. This number is an outsourced customer service centre in India. I don't answer - but they do know a few of my details and ask me to call specific personnel at the Jersey (Chan Islands) branch.
The dept calling me is the 'Fraud Prevention Dept' (or some such thing) and the calls are usually as a result of my transferring large sums of money over the internet.
They are proactive when it comes to investigating large sums of money - however, the reason I agree that it is shoddy practice is that HSBC have really been pissing me off recently (LARGE sums of money I have pushed through them as well, ungrateful t***s) and Indian Customer Service Centres are UTTERLY UTTERLY incompetent (don't get me started about British Telecom - wrote to and got reply from CEO).
If you don't bank with HSBC, ring them and complain about the calls.
If you DO bank with HSBC, ignore this number and ring YOUR OWN branch.
Maybe they'll get the message then - after all, they are the world's LOCAL BANK aren't they??? And isn't India really local to the UK!!!!?????- Caller: HSBC
- RMI received a call from this number. Upon completion of my call, I then phoned HSBC Complaints myself to query as to why I was receiveing unsolicited calls. They were able to confirm that someone associated with themselves had made a call to me regarding my account.
Very unprofessional tactic, but genuinely from HSBC. - RobThis number called me 6 times, with one call coming straight after i hung up on the previous call, i refused to answer the call at first googled it and ended up at this site with everybody saying it was HSBC, i sent them a query via the post and was expecting a reponse via post not from a call centre in india, i finally answered and she said that she was from HSBC and could i speak to R ****. When i send a query via post i expect to recieve a reply via post, not some call centre making me think im the victim of ID fraud!
- Caller: HSBC
